SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA --- May 22, 2008 --- Darius Palmer announced today that he has been spending endless hours in the studio laying down new tracks. “I’m extremely busy but I'm having a great time! No I’m not MIA,†Palmer laughs. He is currently working on his newest album which is expected to be launched this fall. Darius Palmer developed a passion for music and a flare for songwriting at a very young age. In March 2006, he decided to go public with his music. Being the private singer-songwriter, he tested the waters with the unreleased disc Snakes Below and the select group of listeners enjoyed his music immensely. As Darius continued with his musical journey, he worked with producer Joey Arreguin and completed a 3-song demo CD featuring guest musicians Ricky Z (credits: Jessica Simpson) and Del Atkins (credits: Dr. Dre and DJ Quik).
Inspired by various music artists, Palmer continued laying down tracks creating the funky R&B/Pop album FEVER. This album was his first released disc. Preparing for the “Mission 814†concert, Darius along with the performers worked long hours with choreographer David “Darkie†Simmons (credits: Kirk Franklin). During the concert, Palmer sang several songs from the FEVER disc which proved to be explosive. The audience that evening truly enjoyed an infusion of Darius Palmer. “Mission accomplishedâ€, Palmer says with a smile.
Singles from the FEVER album gave Darius notoriety on the air. The hot single Whatcha Think was featured on the 24/7 R&B/Hip-Hop radio station, Royal Radio. Another amazing single And I’m Not was released to Royal Radio, and the fans tuned in as this single quickly climbed the top 10 chart becoming the No. 1 most requested song. At the request of other radio stations, Palmer submitted more songs from this disc also.
After meeting the legendary icon Stevie Wonder and other aspiring great music artists, Darius continues to spend endless hours in the studio working diligently on new material. His growing maturity and development will be further established with the release of his new album. “My aspiration is to create music from my heart and soul that will last eternally,†Palmer says.
Numerous songs have been written, produced, and arranged by Darius and they have yet to be released. The up tempo dance track Loosen Up and the sizzling single Salacious are prime examples. Realizing talent always wins the test of time, Darius Palmer believes in making the best music. “Creating music on a personal note…not sugarcoating things…expressing yourself through your music…that’s music at its best,†Darius says. Family, friends and fans always keep your eyes and ears open when it comes to this solo singer-songwriter. Being the super-talented artist that he is, Darius Palmer still has more music projects up his sleeve.
