"I’m an aspiring artist with my own music and enjoying the life of performing and doing what I love to do best..."
The many moons that populate the sky aligned, when Michael Anthony made a pledge to launch both himself and his music into another league. Born, and growing up in South London, April 1985, Michael Anthony's aura never strayed too far away from the three creative disciplines, that make up the Performing Arts. Michael soon began taking ballet and jazz lessons, motivated by the fire that was instilled in him from watching music artists that evolutionised both the way music, and music videos were marketed and put across to the many masses around the world. Janet, Michael, James Brown, Prince, The De'Barge family just to name a few. The raw passions of these artists were enough to fire Michael onto a fast track of learning how to use his craft in all three disciplines to his advantage and most importantly, how to put them together to work.
"After years of training in both dancing and singing at college and University my passions drove me towards a very creative edge where I found that I wanted to become an artist and create my own music, writing my own material and being involved with the production side of my work as much as possible."
While developing his distinctive style of vocal and showcasing his lyrics, Michael kept up his dancing on the side on a professional level, working with artists such as Keisha White, Jamelia, and The Sugababes; in turn he was able to observe artists at work in their natural atmosphere- this proved vital. He got involved with Dark Arts as a choreography assistant, working with top breakers and commercial dancers now seen widely in many marketing campaigns. By 2002, it finally came the time for Michael to take pen from paper and put vocal to microphone. While he laid down the tracks, his choreographer and dancers laid down the movement material, when his first full showcase came to pass- the collaboration of the disciplines was on another level. He continued down this line.
In this recent day and having moved through several management opportunities, maintaining and modifying his image, Michael finally becomes Moonchild, and the moons behind his persona align once again. His sound and musical styling has been described as "Smooth", "Sleek" and "Distinctive" . Not suffering with having to reside his creativity within one niche, he continues to work alongside his producers to acquire recognition for making the effort to minimize the use of the most commercially and easy methods of production- a one hit wonder is not the term to coin him under, given the effort both him and his creative team go to. Meeting Michael Jackson and working with Chris Brown in the Diamond Event November '06 catapaulted Michael's penchant for honing his craft. He is able to bring you 'whole' pieces such as 'Dance All Night' 'Clown' and 'Feel So Good' and more recently, [with inspirational direction from Mig Ayesa] tracks such as 'Unfaithful' while enriching the club sound with 'Candy Raindrops' Michael continues to train in dance and singing to this day and will be embarking upon a European Tour of acclaimed Musical Celebration 'Thriller Live'. By being able to visit different countries and rub shoulders with their local musical stylings, The Moonchild's journey continues....
