The man who is adored by millions of fans all over the globe. The man who generated massive sales. The only man to receive as many awards as him and done so much as a humanitarian. The man who draws mass excitement where ever he goes. The man known as the King of Pop.Born on August 29, 1958, Michael was the seventh child in a family of nine children. His father, Joseph Jackson, was a steel mill worker in Gary, Indiana. Then, Michael and his older brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon were put into the spot light when their father decided to form a signing group out of them and called them the Jackson 5. Michael was the youngest of the group but it was exceedingly obvious that there was something special about him. His voice was more matured then most boys his age and a crowd charming charisma led him and his older brothers from local gigs to a recording contract with Motown Records in the late 1960s. The boys were on the road of success. They turned out hit after hit after hit and soon Michael was rearing off into a solo recording career. This eventually led to Michael leaving Motown Records and joining Epic Records in 1976. In 1978 Michael tried out an acting career in The Wiz, which didn’t turn out too much money but introduced him to Quincy Jones who had created the films score. With Quincy, Michael started on his next project, Off The Wall. With this album Michael turned into the adult superstar that adoring fans came to love. The album was released in 1979 and sold 10 million copies and went multiplatinum. The success of this amazing album seemed almost impossible to ever top but in 1982 Michael defied the impossible with the release of Thriller. Thriller broke records and has still maintained to do so when it sold 50 million copies worldwide, gave way to six top ten singles, and spent an amazing 37 weeks at number one. Till this very day Thriller remains the best selling album of all time. That same year Michael kept it coming and won an unbelievable 8 Grammy awards. Thriller made Michael an American Pop icon. Well, after making the number one best selling album of all time, Michael went on to make the number two best selling album of all time out of Bad which was released in 1987. Bad sold over 25 million copies worldwide and became his first ever solo world tour which became the biggest concert in history. In 1991 Michael released his next album, Dangerous, and continued to astonish with 23 million copies sold worldwide and followed with another amazing tour in 1992. The following year in 1993 the superstar sat down for a 90 minute interview with Oprah Winfrey that took place at Neverland Ranch. It was the most watched program of the year with 100 million viewers worldwide. In 1995, Michael released his ambitious album HIStory Past, Present and Future Book I. It was a huge album containing 15 greatest hits from his previous four albums and 15 brand new songs, some which became the most personal songs he has ever recorded. In 1997, Michael released Blood On The Dance Floor: HIStory In The Mix which included 5 new songs and 8 remixed songs from the HIStory album. 1997 was also a new turn for Michael on a very personal level. In February his was, Debbie, that he had married in November of 1996 gave birth to his first child Prince Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. A daughter, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, followed in 1998. Michael’s children are such a blessing to him and he says that fatherhood is his greatest dream come true. In 1999 Michael held two charity concerts in South Korea and Munich and then released the Invincible album in 2001. In 2002 Michael received another Child to bring into his joy of fatherhood named Prince Michael II but just simply called Blanket. In November of 2003, Michael Jackson released his 'Number 1's' album. This album includes 18 songs of 16 previously released tracks spanning Jackson's career from the early solo album 'Off The Wall' through 'Invincible'. In November 2004, the highly anticipated 'Michael Jackson: The Ultimate Collection' finally arrived. Filled with songs that span the extraordinary career of Michael Jackson from 1969 to 2004, the box set consists of five discs, one of which is a DVD of the Michael Jackson Live in Bucharest Concert from the Dangerous Tour.
