THE DBZ Bio
Young Hot. Work Dirty. Put them together and you have the hot new group, the DBZ a.k.a. The Dirty Boyz. These two young brothers from the streets of Vallejo, California, are the real deal. Born Vernon (Hot) and Montrell (Work) Harris, the two first cousins learned at an early age that life is cruel. Having to hustle to survive and help support their families the best they could, meant having to risk their freedom living outside of the law. Looking up to the older cousins who had been through rough times and used music as a way to turn the tables in their favor, Hot and Work too began to walk that road. They have earned much respect on the streets as well as the airwaves and their fan base continues to grow with every track they bless.
So far these two cousins from the Northern Bay have put out three successful independent mixtapes and have been featured on several other mixtapes such the Best of the Bay ..7. After being signed to 30/30 Sick Wid It Records, they worked on a compilation album called Life Styles of the Disobayish. The title song Disobayish performed by the DBZ, was a hit in the Bay and received radio play on KMEL, a very popular hiphop station. During that time, Hot and Work were featured on another project with friend and labelmate Nump. The song was titled Stunner Shades and became a Bay area classic. The DBZ motto is go hard. And thats exactly what they did. While rippin up shows throughout the Bay such as Exotica Erotica Halloween Party at the Cow Palace in San Francisco and opening up for their Big Cousin E-40, the DBZ prepared for the release of their debut album. The DBZ, at the same time recorded two songs for another compilation called Bay Bridges. The songs were No Trouble, featuring E-40 and Get Busy which also received much airplay on both Wild 94.9 and 106.1 KMEL.. The debut album titled Speaking in Mannish was released in late February 2006. The first single from the alum titled Stewy was being felt everywhere. It received air play up and down the West Coast. It held the number one spot on many Hip Hop stations, such as Z 90.3 in San Diego and Sacramentos 103.5 the Bomb where it was No.1 for a record breaking 47 days straight and remains the heavy rotation. With the highly anticipated second single on the way, the future is looking bright for the DBZ.
These two young artists are on the frontline of what is known as the Hyphy movement and show no signs of backing down. They have performed alongside artists such as Pitt Bull, T-Pain, Nina Sky, Nick Cannon and, of course, E-40. If you havent seen them live then you have probably seen their cameos in the Tell Me When To Go video or the new E-40 video You and Dat. The DBZ are dedicated to their music and are already working on other projects. So if youre not familiar with the DBZ, chances are you will be soon.
