I am here for Friends

About Me

I am currently completing a master's program in clinical psychology with an MFT licensure specialization to administer couples and family therapy and to treat those with eating, mood, obsessive compulsive, and autism spectrum disorders. I plan on eventually establishing my own private counseling practice. I was taking singing lessons for a while, but that avenue is taking the backseat.
I tend to have very focused interests and possess virtually superhuman senses that can be both a boon and a curse. They enhance my perceptiveness on one hand but contribute to overload and irritation on the other, so I have to be judicious with my activities. I have scotopic sensitivity , but I don't let it get in the way of my goals. I overcame depression and an eating disorder on my own and will always be proud of that. My range varies from calm and withdrawn to witty to giddy to serious to completely silly to flirtatious to mischievous and craving violence. I like helping people solve their problems, sometimes to a fault, and often must restrain myself so that they take appropriate personal responsibility. I have a biting sense of humor and playfully ridicule people, so you can't say you haven't been warned. In fact, that only happens if I like you; otherwise, I don't bother making the effort. It's impossible to offend me but quite probable you'll annoy me. I'm learning to make the best of friendships now more than ever because, if not, I tend to turn inward too much. I'm an INTJ mental type but have been demonstrating more outgoing tendencies of late. My interests are pretty concentrated on treatment of psychological disorders and the intersections among health, psychology, and body image, but I also veer toward the political, historical, and scientific at times to keep up with contemporary progress, track patterns, and imagine solutions for the future. I like tattoos, piercings, and gothic styles, but try not to go overboard with any of these three.
My blog is http://athameblade.blogspot.com .
I also run this site:

My score on The Asperger's Syndrome Test :

Result: 37. Your score isn't an achievement, it just is.

Psychologist Simon Baron-Cohen and his colleagues at Cambridge's Autism Research Centre have created the Autism-Spectrum Quotient, or AQ, as a measure of the extent of autistic traits in adults. In the first major trial using the test, the average score in the control group was 16.4. Eighty percent of those diagnosed with autism or a related disorder scored 32 or higher. The test is not a means for making a diagnosis, however, and many who score above 32 and even meet the diagnostic criteria for mild autism or Asperger's report no difficulty functioning in their everyday lives. You scored 32 or above. Do with that what you will.

The Asperger's Syndrome Test

I'd like to meet:

NO ONE UNLESS I HAVE MET YOU IN PERSON.
I'm largely content with my current friends and "friends" and am not likely to add any more. I don't have the time or will to keep up with a large number of friends and prefer not to spread myself thin with the ones I am close to. If you wish to know me in virtual world, comment on my blog.
