The original concept of Wolfencross , borns in 1998 as a project of Ares,
singer of the band of Black Symphonic Metal Surtur, in which could make room
for his musical interests and his total contempt by the lack of values of the present
consumer society.
By then the band was called The Elder and combined in equal shares Black
primitive Metal with folk sounds and passages inspired in ost of epic cut.
After a time seeking members to complete a stable formation without a lot of
Success (during this period they collaborated with Ares members of Surtur,
Gloom, Dawn of Tears and Belzeeb), the project remains stranded.
In February of 2004 , Ares meets Erik and they undertake a project together
that finished unchaining in the birth of Wolfencross . The formation is consolidated
with the entrance of Hallderd (bass), Racso (keyboardist), and Astur(guitar).
The sound of the band is defined like a powerfull Heathen Black Thrash, what
added to the lack of time and the greater interest by the simphonic sounds, Astur
concludes with his friendly separation with the nucleus of the band.
In January of 2005 , Luis(drums), joined to the band, compacting even more the
songs, that become an authentic sonic whirlwind. A month later Hallderd quits
caused by personal problems and James Surt (guitar) and soul matter of Surtur,
joins the band adding some arrangements and technicism to the guitars.
By the time Surt passes to occupy the position of bassist (his main instrument) and
Fernando (Gloom guitarrist, Death Metal band based in Madrid), joins with the
band as our session and live guitarrist (nowadays full member).
By 2005 and 2006 Wolfencross plays at Antichristmast Fest and Barbarian Wrath
Fest, getting excellent reviews about their gigs; those years they shared stage with
Spanish bands like Kuturlat, Spiritual Intervention, Hordak, The Art of Blasphemy,
Kathaarsys, The Ransack (Por),Ered, Frozen, and Omission, among others.
Finishing summer 06 Luis(drummer) quits friendly Wolfencross caused by his
personal interest in finishing his studies of University.
Wolfencross starts seeking new drummer, by the time, finishing ´06 Arjan,
(Spiritual Intervention) helps the band at drums duties in order to play at
Catamenia show in Madrid. Finally one month before the gig, Juan joins the band,
and both drummers played at Catemania (Fin) gig in Madrid sharing stage with
Winterhorde (Isr) and Last Deception (Spa).
In 2007 Wolfencross plays at Celtiberian Pagan Madness Fest, sharing
stage with Hordark, Cyhiriaeth, Foscor and Berserk. and also at Negura
Bunget (Rom) gig in Madrid sharing stage with Kathaarsys and Undefiined.
In these moments the band is found preparing their long awaited recording
of their first album self produced, and seeking label.
