About Me

Wondering why we added you? Simple! We added you because we're a band, and we're here to promote our music. If we added you, it's because you looked like a reasonably intelligent person who might enjoy the kind of music we're making. So please, there's no need to send us a message that says "Do I know you?" Also, it'd be nice to see some of you at our next show, and this is a good way for us to make that happen. We won't spam you ever. The only time you'll get a message from us is when we post new music or have a show coming up. Neither of these things happens very often. We're a very low-maintenance friend as far as you're concerned.
Having trouble playing songs? They might already be playing...some of the songs on here have long fade-ins. This is because we're not a pop band and we don't care about getting to the "hook" in 30 seconds or less. Sit down for a sec and chill and you'll be greeted with some totally worthwhile music. There are no vocals. Yes, we know. If we had something we wanted to sing, we would sing it. In fact, one of the songs on our CD does feature some very tasty vocals by Gonzo. However, if you want snappy little catchy-hooky-pop sing-a-long tunes, go to any other band's site. They're all doing it.
We understand that sitting around for 8 minutes on a web page just to check out a song doesn't really fit the surf-click-surf pattern that we're all accustomed to. So...we've made a couple of the songs downloadable so you can take 'em with you and find out for yourself where our music best fits into your life. We sound really good in headphones, so put us in your iPod or Rio or whatever you have. Maybe you'd like to hear it while driving, or reading, or drowsing, or having dinner, or makin' sweet love...it's up to you. If you like the music, you should consider buying one of our very reasonably priced CDs. Buying a CD helps us afford to keep recording and making more CDs for you to enjoy. Just send us a message for details.
Yes, our music is repetitive. Yes, the songs are long. This is our big 'blow me' to the ADHD soundbite culture we live in. These songs will grow on you. They fade nicely into the background of daily life, but they will also reward you if you choose to engage them. You will find parts that reach up and grab your attention. You might even find yourself 'rocking out' from time to time. There are subtle changes, drifts, and metamorphoses crafted into the repetition. This is your reward for being a careful listener.

We're all really nice guys, and one of us is even single and looking, so ladies take note! Gonzo has requested that you please not throw your virtual panties at him. We've been friends since as far back as High School and have been in bands with each other for the last 13 years or so...in one form or another.
Influences: Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, Tortoise, Boards of Canada, Tristeza, Codeine, Pink Floyd, A Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra La La Band, Radiohead, Flaming Lips, Comsat Angels, The Sound, Joy Division, Warsaw, Ova Looven, Antarctica, National Skyline, The Cure, Neil Young, sigur ros, Neurosis, Jesu, Opeth, Pelican, The Swords Project, Mono, Kinski, Laswell, etc.
Sounds Like: nomovingparts is a (mostly) instrumental rock band with members from the greater Puget Sound region. They play a style of rock that falls somewhere between the 'space-rock' of the early 70's and that elusive, modern 'post-rock' sound. The Band encourages you to add your own rock prefix of choice.
