Influences: Cal- Listening to Chemical Brothers and Bertie Blackman lately, Superette is an influence, Killing Joke(their chugga guitar), Death in Vegas a bit and Garbage....things that happen...I dunno...best ask the others?...first album I ever bought was Wierd Al Yankovic and I was brought up on a diet of Val Doonican and The Mikado and Irish bands in pubs...First band I ever saw was Anti-pasti with UK Subs in London and I just saw the UK Subs again and they rock..Charlie Harper told me the Anti-Pasti singer now has a rather large clothing label (brew your own..makes me chuckle)....Saw Bauhaus in 82, does that explain a bit (goth-punk without the clothing)....so I see bands a fair bit, don't watch much TV...... but watch old movies or anime...I'm reading Diane Cilento's autobiography at a table under a tree at Surfer's and a horrible history of the Yucatan (not at the beach) cos it picks up where the movie Apocalypto finishes, jaw dropping....play a game called hurling, when I can find someone to play it with...enjoy singing, like this band a lot, making odd collages....don't give a stuff about fashion or what anyone thinks is cool....find humans funny especially ones who don't think you're worth talking to because they are on one of the muzak conveyor belts (scenesters) and experts who get paid too much for their dribble, add dodgy gossip mongers to that list....great bands I've seen lately were Erase Erata, Lily Allen with her awesome Ska band, Bertie Blackman (bestest gig 2007) and Sarah Blasko (just to confuse you all) and mustn't forget the Anti-Nowhere League (that was a good hangover) plus Nick Cave (who rocks with misery) and The Hits (yay)_____
Sal - Sonic Youth, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Magic Dirt, The Pixies, No Doubt, P.J. Harvey, Erase Errata, Franz Ferdinand (drumming that demands you shake your booty) The Superjesus, Sleater-Kinney, The White Stripes, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Stevie Wonder, Led Zeppelin, street buskers that make the taxi queue so much more bearable...
Sounds Like: Really don't sound like anyone but...it could be described as.....
Chills crossed with Sonic Youth.......wierd stuff is more Aphex Twinnish?.....Love to confuse the media because they are confused.........
"I Runno" as Scooby Doo would say.....
