Presenting the little hurts.

About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4SOME QUOTES ABOUT BMX BANDITS: "Gentle genius".- Q magazine. "One of Britain's best-kept secrets... some of the most sumptuous, emotionally devastating pop songs never to grace the top 40... a dream marriage of Brian Wilson and Michel Legrand's Umbrellas of Cherbourg" - The Daily Telegraph. "The Bandits have been a Scottish jangle-pop institution practically since the dawn of time, with Kurt Cobain famously being in awe of their tunesmithery. Fifteen (15!) albums down the line and they can still write the melodies"- N.M.E. "Lush and knowing" - The Sunday Herald "As pure pop music goes it's pretty much unbeatable because there's so much heart and soul tied up in the realisation. These re-fashioned Bandits mean business." - The Next Big Thing "After 20 years of heartache, melody and romance, it’s high time the Bandits were recognised as the classic pop band they are." - The Beard "Beautifully crafted... sad but wryly upbeat honesty" - Record Collector. "Sounding this glorious 21 years into your career is no mean feat. Pop newbies take note" - The List. "It is a blessing that such a curious and fragile pop oddity can exist in this blustery and busy modern world. Great songs"- N.M.E. "Stewart's eccentricity, and his lasting, wide-eyed joy at guitar pop's power in its simplest and most upbeat of forms is charmingly honest and not to be scoffed at"- The Scotsman "Beautifully crafted... sad but wryly upbeat honesty" - Record Collector. The band's ever morphing line up has, for more than 2 decades now, revolved around head Bandit and composer Duglas T Stewart. BMX Bandits released their first single E102 in 1986 and in 2007 they released their 15th album BEE STINGS. Ex-Bandits include members of the following bands past and present: Teenage Fanclub, The Vaselines, Music & Movement, Future Pilot AKA, The Soup Dragons, Nice Man & the Bad Boys, National Park, Belle & Sebastian, Eugenius, Superstar, Snow Goose, The Green Peppers and a few others. Currently there are 8 Bandits...7 boys and 1 girl. BMX Bandits most popular songs include Serious Drugs, Little Hands, I Wanna Fall in Love, Doorways, Disco Girl and E102.THE NEW ALBUM 'BEE STINGS' WAS RELEASED MAY 2007 IN JAPAN ON P VINE, SEPTEMBER 2007, IN SOUTH KOREA ON BEATBALL AND IN EUROPE ON POPPYDISC, OCTOBER 2007. 'BEE SINGS' WILL BE RELEASED IN THE PHILIPPINES IN THE LATE SUMMER OF 2008 ON UNIVERSAL. BMX BANDITS ARE CURRENTLY PUTTING TOGETHER A NEW RETROSPECTIVE COMPILATION THAT WILL BE RELEASED INTERNATIONALLY IN THE AUTUMN OF 2008.
