Influences: Hello there and welcome!Well ok a bit about my journey: I enjoy weaving stories and analogy’s on life as i see it, personal growth and issues close to my heart such as social injustice and unconditional love. Ok and some pretty intense love songs have escaped my lips its true, I'm guilty. Born and bred around the Crenshaw/Liemert Park hood of beautyfull crazy Los Angeles,I got my start performing in local Open Mic’s and Classic Rock venues like the Joint and The Whiskey A Go Go, and then headed to New York City for 3 years in 2001. 9/11 was my welcome wagon and I'm glad i stuck around depsite the madness. I honed much of my chops playing there in subways and showcasing my minimalist acoustic folk/jazz throughout some of the city’s venues.Life as a music maker has taken me all over this wonderfull world - performing and collaborating in places like Monterrey, Mexico (Natural Jazz Collective) 2005, Barcelona with (El Chavo) 2006, Japan and most recently in Rome, Italy 2006-2007, where I worked on new acoustic projects with guitarist/singer/songwriter Luca Romano (Just What We Need), dance tracks with (Truly Weirdos), and most extensively with percussionist/electronic programmer Roberto Tollis. Our on going electronic chill out project is called (Lo Five Orchestra) "All I Want" in music player. While spending nearly a year in Rome, I made my first live television appearances on SKY Networks daily talk show ‘Stella’, hosted by (Maurizio Costanzo). Fun. Insane. See blog for video excerpts. These are the Cliff notes of what have been an amazing 5 years of traveling and collaborating, experimenting and figuring out my 'sound', only to find out that there never really can be just one. Life is too fluid, and we are always changing. At the moment I'm based in my hometown of LA, working with some great musicians like flamenco guitarist (Remmy Morris). Through music I hope to heal myself and others, inform and inspire. We must listen and follow our hearts, and it’s never too late to do much of anything!SOME INFLUENCES: Nina Simmone, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Ted Neely and Carl Anderson (Andrew Lloyd Webers Jesus Christ Superstar), Edyie Gorme, Stevie Wonder, Hank Williams, Billy Holiday, Lhasa de la Sela, Esthero, Dez Hope, Ely Guerra, Robi Drago Rosa, Aterciopelados, Antony and the Johnsons.
