Archetypes are experienced in their polarity at various places on a spectrum of "good" at one end and"bad" at the other. This polarity is part of human nature. When only that which we are told is good is allowed to exist in a persona , and when bad is repressed, those elements that we have repressed do not gently fade away and disappear.they remain just below the surface of our ego,waiting to be activated One way we can feel their activation is to notice what "triggers"us. When we are "triggered" we often get enraged and say and do things to others that we regret later. "I DON' T KNOW WHAT CAME OVER ME," is often said . we have vented something from within ourselfs and projected it onto another person. We know our own "dark parts", or shadow, through our projections,This primitive and negative material is our personal unconscious, ones shadow will bang on the doors and windows of consciousness and, if left unchecked, unconscious, or ignored, will emerge as compulsions and chaotic drives, your shadow is always lurking and to repress the elements of the psyche is impossible ......
