Sexy Jewish Girls Rock!

About Me

I love music -- I listen to it, I buy it, I write about it, I even -- for a few bands I truly love -- promote it. I do grassroots marketing/internet promotions and coordinate the street teams for two great bands -- Spiraling and NoMoreDolls --who are both on myspace (click those links!) and you absolutely must take the opportunity to come check out!
I am the Managing Editor of HOOTERS Magazine (www.hootersmagazine.com), a freelance copy editor for FHM, Black Enterprise, rarei.com, YRB, INKED, COED, as well as a writer for Beauty News NYC, Animal Fair, New York Resident, svdigitaluniverse.com, HOOTERS, and contributing author to Chicken Soup for the Dieter's Soul. (Yup! Published author, finallly!) I am also a freelance editor/writer (Please check out my Web site at http://www.mediabistro.com/alywalansky )

Aside from all that, I tend to be totally obsessed with the things I love. I'm a huge fan of the South Beach Diet, and love to be missionary-like in sharing its virtues with anyone that will listen. (So much that I often piss people off!) I also LOVE to shop, especially in outlet centers. I am a big fan of trying out bars and restaurants (and yelping about them on yelp.com, haha) - and I love to veg out in my flannel pjs and watch the food network for hours on end.
Oh, and as much as I love the whole eating healthy/shopping thing...I hate to exercise, with a passion. Unless it's the cardio stiptease workout. Or bellydancing. :) And if you put me near a pitcher of sangria or a lychee martini, all thoughts of self-control go out the window :)
Yep, that's me in a nutshell, haha
Check out Spiraling's new music video, "A Face for Radio"! -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- BUY THIS BOOK

My Interests

HOOTERS Magazine!!!! Also going to see live bands play, hanging out at bars for happy hour with my friends, trying new restaurants, shopping, reading, writing, traveling. "Time Out New York" is my bible. (And as of late, spreading the gospel of the South Beach Diet to anyone who will listen!) *stolen from Hilda -- HOOTERS on the news stand at the 7-11*
