Evans HS is the 2007 Augusta High School Rugby League Champions defeating Richmond Academy 15 to 14 in the Final.

AHSRL is committed to organizing and directing High School Rugby in the Augusta Georgia area.

The purpose of the League’s formation is to supply organization and an outlet for present and future High School Rugby Clubs in the Augusta Georgia area. The Augusta Rugby League is here also to supply HS American football fans with a highly exciting spring alternative sport to American football. The Augusta Rugby League is used by local HS football programs as a highly active and exciting spring training tool for preparation towards the next HS football season. The Augusta High School Rugby League works with the combined effort of all C.S.R.A. area high schools. It is also a highly publicized High School League. The league does not cost students any amount of money to participate in it for it is fully sponsored. The league is self governed with the help of the C.S.R.A. community & the non-profit Live for Rugby, INC. . The league is not here to take athletes from high schools athletic programs, but here to give an outlet to students who don't have a sport to play. The Rugby league can also help develop HS Football programs just like it has done for HS Football programs in the Atlanta area.For more on the League or to see the rest of the letter. 2006 Augusta High School Rugby Coach’s Invitational Tournament.There were four teams in the tournament: Union County Lions From the Charlotte, N.C. HS league; Campbell High School from the Metro Atlanta Rugby Conference; Nooga U-19 Rugby team from Chattanooga, TN.; and of course Augusta U-19 Rugby Team. It was a knock out style tournament. Charlotte played Chattanooga in what turned out to be a great final. Charlotte beat Chattanooga 34 to 0. The coach’s also got trophies thanking them for their dedication and commitment to coaching and promoting youth rugby in the Southeastern U.S. We plan to do the tournament again in 2007.
