Chris Cope

Chris Cope's journey as a songwriter and performer began early. Coming from a background in drumming, Chris possessed a natural ability and flair, which easily adapted to other instruments, namely the guitar. His talent as a songwriter have been honed and influenced by his involvement in various bands and groups over the years, ranging from Jazz trios, to Big Band, to commercial Rock Bands.
Chris achieved a notable degree of success in New Zealand with his former band 'eight', whose debut album Moving was released through BMG (now SonyBMG) in 2004. Moving achieved Gold sales status, and produced several successful radio singles and music videos, including number 1 Rock-Radio airplay for the single No Way to Decide.
Throughout 2004-2005 the band eight enjoyed strong press coverage, and an extensive nationwide presence, including international support slots for Creed and Incubus, as well as their own successful headline tours. In 2005 Chris decided it was time to go it alone, and began to focus his full attention on developing his own original material.
Chris has been living in London since 2006, cutting his teeth on the UK music scene, while embracing the ongoing process of evolving as a person and artist, in reaction to the realities of life...
