Here On The Ground - ALBUM OUT NOW

About Me

Hi, I'm Luke. Nice to meet you, I am a songwriter/singer from New Zealand. I like to write songs and sing them. I Hope you enjoy listening to them. My debut album 'Here On The Ground' is in NZ stores now, or you can buy it from iTunes or Amplifier.co.nz .Thanks for stopping by.BIOGRAPHY (Bio - by Graham Reid. FULL BIO @ www.lukethompsonmusic.com)It is a rare debut album by a New Zealand singer-songwriter which arrives as fully formed and mature as that by 24-year old Luke Thompson, whose Here on the Ground announces the arrival of a major Kiwi talent. His songs are radio-friendly (the top 20 single last year ‘Perfect Drive’, the hook-filled ‘Say You’ll Stay’, the new single ‘Bleed’) and intimately personal (the hypnotic ‘Satellites’ which comes with gentle strings, the ballad ‘Seventeen Again’).Here on the Ground is the sound of a young and new artist, yet also someone who has years of writing and performing behind him. Driven by a small band, the musically diverse album proves Thompson has something to say and his lyrics stand firmly within that long lineage of his influences.“Yes, it is quite diverse, and I like that – like Don McLean albums. They are so obviously him and his guitar, but you don’t really find two of the same song anywhere.“An album was something I’d wanted to make since I was about 10, so it’s like Here on the Ground is my life’s work … so far.” FULL BIOGRAPHY at:

Sounds Like: Like that noise you hear when you look up and suddenly realise your not where you thought you were, and your not who you think you are, then the rain starts pounding on your freezing hands and you wonder why you didn't bring gloves, or a raincoat but then you remember you have bigger problems cos you can't even remember your name ... all the same you start wondering the crowded street aimless and alone with sore feet and when you find the noise it's coming from a third floor window so you look up and listen, then your reminded of the home your unsure you ever had ... so you just stand there feeling happy and sad. Possibly sounds a bit like that.
