About Me

Were to start? Ok, originally from Aotearoa (New Zealand) I moved to the UK age 4.5yrs. Growing up in North West London (the most culturally diverse part of the UK) I was exposed to a wide sphere of music and culture. My musician dad made sure that whenever he went to a gig, concert or play he would take me along too. Naturally by the time I turned 12 I had decided music was the life I wanted so I started playing classical guitar, later turning to bass to play in bands. I wanted a synthersizer so badly that I actually saved £5 a week doing a paper round which after 2.5yrs turned into a Yamaha sy35! Anyway this was the real start of a creative career. Writing, performing and production are all part of my portfolio. I got into Jazz attending workshops run by the legendary Ian Carr when I was 16, he really put me through my paces which prepared for working as a session musician age 18. I studied music formally age 20 by which time I had been giging recording and writing with many different artists. I have been known over the years as having helped many artists develop their sound and get them ready for a career in the music industry. Now I do it officially as a mentor and tutor for several leading creative education estalishments in London.
