architecture, philosophy, art, geography (geo dork- don't tell anyone), sociology, anything with an "ology" on the end of it... it's a total dorkfest; used to work towards Brad Pitt-dom in the gym but now i'm in school 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so sleep is of interest to me then pleading the fifth on the rest of my interests
isis, neurosis, tribes of neurot, cult of luna, my classic 3 (tool, older jane's addiction, aphex twin), trs-80, slaves/pleasure forever, flying saucer attack, older will oldham (palace, bonnie prince billy), slow dive, electric wizard, g 'n r ("appetite" and "lies" of course)...[droning stoner rock/doom rock, atmospheric guitar stuff, ambient electronica, classic psychedelic rock, anything i haven't heard before, maybe some classic eighties stuff, and some cheesier early nineties stuff i'm too embarrassed to admit to]
"2001", "memento", "21 grams"/"amores perros" ( i love that guy), "gummo", "nowhere"/"doom generation" (i know greg araki's movies are cheesy but i don't apologize), plenty of art movies that are so intense that you can only watch them once otherwise you'd ball up in the corner of the room twitching for 3 days straight (kind of like "irreversible", feel-good movie of 2002), incredibly ridiculous parody/satire/mockumentary-like comedies such as: baseketball and orgazmo (mmm... that's right, i said it); scary movie 1,2, and 3; waiting for guffman; deuce bigalow; joe dirt; airplane; blazing saddles; zoolander; other stupid shit like the aforementioned but to be honest, i'll watch anything once (even chick flicks but that's a secret just between us)- in fact, my roommate rented "serenity" the other day and it was pretty damn good. oh, and some philosphical classics like "predator", "conan: the destroyer", and "total recall".
[adultswim] ("sealab 2021", "ATHF", "harvey birdman", etc.) "southpark", "the family guy"/"american dad", "futurama", "chapelle's show", anything on the science channel, "hometime" (discovery home), "the simpsons" is classic... you know on further review, i see that most of what i watch is animated which is weird in and of itself
stephenson's "snow crash", palahniuk's "survivor", frankl's "man's search for meaning", hickey's "air guitar", "the phaidon atlas of contempary world architecture" which is classified as a weapon in many states (the john holmes of books), "vitamin p: new perspectives in painting", any reference book on philosophy or sociology, books with pretty pictures of pretty things are nice too
