MyGen Profile GeneratorInspired hugely by the Bay Area thrash movement of the 1980s and early 1990s, Chris Anderson and Joe Cearlock formed Helacon with the intent of bringing the same style of music back to an era in which such music isn't appreciated as much.
Formed in the Midwestern United States, in Central Illinois to be exact, where metal of any kind is sparse, they wrote a handful of originals in 2005 and covered music written by Black Sabbath, Iced Earth, Judas Priest, and so forth, and hired Eric Chrostoski and Joey Marino to fill the bass and second guitar duties, while Chris handled lead guitar and vocals, and Joe performed on the percussive end. After a short amount of time, Eric Chrostoski and Joey Marino were replaced by Matt "Frog" Pruesser and Shane Lehman and this lineup lasted for the remainder of 2006 and the beginning of 2007.
However, in 2007, a fallout happened with Shane Lehman and he was replaced by Nathan Kernan. This lineup remained very solid for 2007 and the first quarter of 2008. This lineup wrote many originals and recorded 7 in Springfield, MO under the production guidance of Greg Ponder at the Funeral Home.
We are open to all kinds of influences between all of us; including death metal, speed metal, thrash metal, new-school metal, NWOBHM, power, prog, and almost anything that represent metal in its truest fashions. Inspired by bands that represent metal in its best fashions, like Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Iced Earth, Testament, Overkill, Metallica, Pantera and many others.
No gimmicks to our music--no masks, no makeup, no suits; just some guys who love to play heavy metal and hang out with metal people.
