After many years as a stylist, Dana trained at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis. In less than a year she was approached to become an educator. Within the following year she was recruited to join the most elite team of Aveda professional educators, the Global Education team. Her responsibility to the Global team was to launch and direct the flagship Aveda Makeup Academy in Soho and to perform as a platform artist worldwide. While in New York, she was the editorial makeup artist for Aveda’s ad campaigns and successfully launched four Aveda makeup collections. She also served as makeup director for Aveda New York sponsored fashion shows, including Vera Wang, Nicole Miller and Eileen Fisher. Her final show as a platform artist was held at Radio City Music Hall in front of 6,000 professionals.
Dana’s expertise extends far beyond Atlanta. She is highly respected and admired by the Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles music industries. Her celebrity client list includes national and international acts such as Tommy Lee, PINK, Butch Walker, B52’s, Collective Soul, Train, Lit, as well as some of the top producers in the music business. She has also worked with some of the most elite editorial artists in the world on both photo shoots and shows, in addition to being the stylist for multiple music videos and album covers. Her work as a stylist and makeup artist has also been featured in local and national publications, including: Allure, American Salon, Atlanta Magazine, Glamour, Harpers Bazaar, Health and Fitness, Instyle, Jezebel, Modern Salon, New York Bride, Rolling Stone, Spin, Vogue, and W.
With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, Dana has established herself as one of the most sought after stylists in the business and reinforced her passion for providing the ultimate service to her clientele. Upon returning to Atlanta Dana opened Rockit Salon to much acclaim. For the past 7 years Rockit has ruled the hair scene in Atlanta, winning a reputation as “the†destination for those seeking a unique salon experience and has won such awards as “Best Hair Salon in Atlanta†– Allure Magazine (2007); “Critics Pick – Best Salon in Atlanta†– Creative Loafing (2006); “Best Salon†–Best of CitySearch (2005&2006).
In February 2007 Dana began accepting clients in Los Angeles and her clientele continues to grow. As a result, Dana has made the decision to better serve her clients on both coast by closing the doors of Rockit and joining forces with Flick Hair Studio. After searching the Atlanta scene to find her ideal salon in which to continue the Rockit mission, Dana found Abigail Roberts, owner of Flick. No one has so closely matched Dana’s desire for a relaxed atmosphere without pretension providing the highest quality, artistic hair and exceptional client care.Dana is excited to announce that on August 1st, 2007 she will begin her journey with Flick Hair Studio.
