About Me
there are moments, sparse & sporadic, when i feel truly connected. they only span a few heartbeats, the pumping of blood over bone, through tissue & into that shapeless place where everything is absolute & perfect & simple. .::. do you remember the roller coaster? we shuffled inch by inch, waiting in life for over half an hour, anticipating something that would barely last a minute. at last we found ourselves seated in the very front, feet dangling, being hoisted higher & higher over looking the skyline. at the top there was a brief pause when it was just us, the city, the mountains & a silent inhale of expectancy before a moment of free fall, weightlessness & a joyful forgetting of & connection with anything that tied us to being mortal & limited. the rest of the ride consisted of spins & twirls in herky-jerky movements that rammed me back into my body, bounced my brain around the inside of my skull & left me dizzy & unplugged from reality. .::. that's kind of what it's like being me. .::. but all of the waiting & herky-jerky & unpluggedness are worth the brief, silently inhaled moments of joyful forgetting & free fall... even if they are sparse & sporadic.
