About Me
Rozin is a powerful four-piece that travels the highways and byways of neo-Rock as easily as the caliche roads of guitar Blues. Their sound is as at home in your cars' CD changer as it is on your turntable or 8-track. And they won't stop playing until you switch off the breakers. These guys have been jamming together (off & on) since junior high, some seventeen odd years ago, and their comfort with each other is matched only by the intuitive nature of the band - they 'know' what the other is thinking and where they all are going next...even if you don't.At the core of any great group lies songwriting and Rozin, with lead singer and guitarist Marcelino Farias at the helm, is no exception. Rather they prove the axiom, in spades. The guitar driven melodies are laced with lyrical metaphors and heart-wrenching insights into loss, desire, search for self, and endless drive.A perennial favorite of the venues Rio Grande Valley, Rozin has played literally everywhere --- the world-famous Black Marlin Tavern on South Padre Island, the Rising Sun in Brownsville, Cobblehead's, Doc's, and JJ's in Harlingen, Peckers in Weslaco, AK's, the Cypress Club, Simon Sez, Mystique, Kooly's, Houligans, and Peppers in McAllen, Hottie's, Chango Jerry's, and Excalibur in Mission, AK's and Juan O'Leary's in Brownsville Rozin has also performed on the mainstage at the annual Diez y Seis Festival in Weslaco, the Onion Blossom Festival in Weslaco, BorderFest in Hidalgo, and opened for Buckcherry at the Roadhouse in San Benito.Rozin's years of gigging and writing experience has shoved them (kicking and screaming) into the studio where they are currently recording their debut release - Ordinary Men. But their recently released, Self-titled six-song EP - ROZIN, is already gaining airplay on local rock stations Q-94.5 and C-101 (the Valley and Corpus Christi, respectively). They have also put it all on the line in numerous 'Battle of the Bands' throughout the Valley. Their most recent run of 16 victories at the Houligans (of McAllen) Battle is still talked about. And to top it off, ROZIN seems to be a favorite of the local rock media; they are sought out for interviews or reviewed by the critics more than any other band in the region (of the Rock vein, anyway).Rozin's blend of alternative rhythms and blues-based, power guitar riffs are sending shockwaves through crowds and the airwaves of the Rio Grande Valley. With their debut release (Ordinary Men) just around the corner, their new website designed by famous online creator Cayetano, and their upcoming dates in California, Rozin is poised on the edge --- ready to jump. Either get onboard, or get the Hell out of the way!
