BIOGRAPHY
Toe-tapping power-pop. 1960’s beach party. Eclectic indie rock. Progressive death metal. One of these categories does not (accurately) describe Arizona’s Adam Panic. Any guesses? At 21-years-old, the singer-songwriter is ready to unveil his newest full length, Wonderful, a combination of melodic hooks, intelligent lyrics, and addicting rhythms. In such a short time, Adam Panic already boasts a do-it-yourself determination and an impressive list of career successes. At best, the average eighteen-year-old only holds concern for his hot prom date or impending graduation. This was not the case for Adam Panic who, by the end of his teens, had self-released two EPs and one album and gained attention from the ears of the masses. Making music since the ripe age of 10, Adam Panic found himself drifting from the generic sound of his previous musical projects. He began writing solo at sixteen, with a head full of ideas and the fierce desire to stand out from the crowd. From that came 2002’s The Vamp, quickly followed by A Siren EP one year later. A Siren EP also marked Adam’s collaboration with producer Bob Hoag (The Format, Joel Plaskett), a partnership that would continue on through Adam’s future endeavors. With only word of mouth, the buzz spread quickly about Adam Panic and weeks later, “In Red†was a single in full rotation across Phoenix, Arizona radio. Things kicked into high gear for Adam Panic in 2004 with his third release, We All Do EP, resulting in a featured performance at Arizona’s Edgefest, as well as an Arizona Infusion of Music Award for Best Singer/Songwriter.This plethora of hometown accomplishments that rested under his belt paled in comparison to the bigger things in store for Adam Panic. Having already shared the stage with such acts as Steel Train, Something Corporate, and The Format, Adam gathered up a live band in May 2005 for his first tour. After three releases, radio rotation, and a seemingly endless amount of local shows, Adam was traveling across the United States at only 19-years-old.Wonderful steps into the spotlight in October 2007. In a croon reminiscent of Elvis Costello or early Phantom Planet, Adam captivates his listeners with easy beats and a feel-good, summer vibe. The sixteen tracks of Wonderful flow seamlessly into one another, from the head-bopping “One Friend House†and “The State I’m In†to the waltz-like piano of “Eighteenâ€. Folksy, heartfelt and catchy, something about Wonderful just clicks. Some might say that Adam Panic is nothing more than a hometown hero; however, with the impending release of Wonderful, Adam has set his sights on the world. His words have reached the masses with a feature in Revolution on Canvas 2, and it’s time for the melodies behind them to do the same. “I knew that I would grow much more, “ sings the confidant voice behind “Like Hymnâ€. As his sound only matures and grows better with time, the doors have been opened wide for Adam Panic. Everyone, including the fans of progressive death metal, will find something to like about Wonderful.
