About Me

My Interests

art, music, fashion, animals, cooking, eating, thrifting, handbags, black dolls/collectibles

I'd like to meet:

Politically conscious, creative, open minded, interesting people. Oh, and all of my favorite artists.

Music:

I love djing! Featured in XLR8R/Adidas Bedroom Rockers book-what an honor!!! I also love rare grooves, (funk & soul) reggae, soca, calypso, afro-cuban, (afro-anything), deep soulful house, old/underground hip-hop, jazz, blues, classic rock and roll

Movies:

Willy Wonka, Gloria,(the original) Anything Almodovar, documentaries-Thelonious Monk, Buena Vista Social Club, etc. I also like Stanley Kubrick, love Doctor Doolittle (the original) because he could talk to the animals, 70's black flicks, John Waters, and INDIES all the way-most mainstream sucks.

Television:

Anything with raunchy, racy, or dark comedy. The more offensive, the better. If you can't laugh about life, why bother? I love Strangers with Candy, Arrested Development, Chappelle Show, Reno 911, Family Guy, Larry David, All in the Family....you get the picture. I'm not much for sitcoms, they're almost all the same. Everytime I like a show it gets cancelled, like Street Time. (Showtime) I like the documentary shows on HBO, SHOWTIME, LOGO and IFC. I AM ADDICTED TO THE WIRE-since season 1, diggin "Weeds" on Showtime right now.

Books:

Mad Cowboy, They Came Before Columbus, Everything by Langston Hughes, old marvel comics, r crumb, american splendor, maus. Magazines-Trace, Tokion, Urb, Fecal Face, Juxtapoz, Art Review, Bomb, Raw Vision, Interior Design, Fader, Surface, XLR8R, Fugue, Black Book-super hip fashion, art, and music mags. Oh, Mother Jones and High Times address great political and social issues.

Heroes:

Angela Davis, Mother Teresa, Frieda Kahlo, Gordon Parks, Bill and Hillary, Oprah....to be continued....All of those that follow their passion and compassion utterly and completely. red/black/ little white
