Well, I went from barely on Myspace - to Myspace fan!! And now to introduce myself - I am Tracy Press (TP to my friends) - New York native and transplant to DC, by way of Howard University. I have been in DC for quite a while - so I guess I can claim both cities........................I like life (most of the time - lol) and try to be good to others and inspire folks to love their lives. I try to live my life as a good person, and am now trying to live to make a positive impact and help others. I love the important people in my life who God gave me. I enjoy doing almost anything! I am somewhere in my twenties and work in about three different industries: entertainment, events, and non-profits. I am an entreprenuer by nature - so I work for myself!!!!!!!!!!...........................I have two main professions, right now. I have a consulting firm called Sweet Soul Entertainment, through which I do marketing, PR, event planning and e-publications for entertainment entities and professionals. I have been working in entertainment for about 8 years. Before I began my company, I worked for producer Chucky Thompson (Notrious B.I.G., Nas, Mary J. Blige, Faith, etc.) as VP of marketing for his label under Epic Records (Chucklife). And before that, I worked for Def Jam and EMI Music. Through my company, I have had and have various clients to include record labels, magazines, liquor companies, artists, authors, major industry events, etc. Everything from Essence to Tanqueray to Showtime have been clients in different capacities, to non-entertainment companies like Biomed..........................Last year, I started my own non-profit - Powerful Beyond Measure and launched my first program, the C.A.P.E. League. My non-profit means everything to me and it si truly my heart and my life's passion. It allows me to combines the things of love most: children, helping people, and the entertainment industry. The CAPE League is a year-round program for underserved and/or at-risk youth who are interested in arts, media and entertainment. The purpose of the program is to introduce kids to the behind the scenes of these industries, while developing other important life skills. Through the program, we engage them in community service, provide industry mentors, give free tutoring, and engage them in personal enrichment activities. I pray the program truly succeeds in helping at risk and lower income young people realize their greatest selves and see beyond their immediate environment. I think it may be a useful vehicle for the entertainment biz to give back!! Check our web site (www.powerbeyondmeasure.org).........................Before that, I was the Executive Director of the Michael Walton Foundation, an athlete-run non-profit that provides programs for youth in the DC metropolitan area. I am also the Advisor and former president for Mid-Atlantic Network of the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment (www.nabfeme.org).......................I absolutely love meeting and interacting with cool new people. People motivate me - so please share what's wonderful about you and what you are doing. Favorite things in life: MY SISTER, my friends and family, music, doing anything with kids, love, and my faith. I also like baking (random), the entertainment industry (when it doesn't annoy me), socializing, volunteering, writing (especially poetry), and playing games (board games, arcade games, a few sports, whatever).............Me - fun, corny, active, driven, generous, bossy, hyper, neurotic, talkative, brilliant, loving, introspective, supportive, attractive, silly, honest, friendly, indecisive, and sweet (most of the time).....................I have one sister and one brother. Got a great Mom - who is an inspiration in my life! I am a Christian and love the way God has always looked out for me, forgiven me my mistakes and teaches me to be a better person everyday! And I have a number of wonderful friends who are like fam to me - shout outs to Michelle, Greg, Eric, Rob, and Nkeshi. Anyway, its been kinda fun on here thus far.
