I am here for Friends

About Me

Ahoyhoy, i'm Sina. My parents are from Iran (a country formerly known as Persia) and they then moved to a country called Central African Republique (C.A.R.) which, believe it or not, is in the Centre of Africa. The move primarily (as i understand it) was due to the persecution of Baha'is by the fundamentalist 'Islamic' government regime and, my parents being Baha'is were being treated very poorly. There (C.A.R.) they gave birth to an older brother and an older sister, the sister being born weak and the resources in C.A.R. being unsuitable as such at the time that she passed away at childbirth. My parents so as not to take a risk with me, flew over to London and hence, i was born in London, England; they then flew back to C.A.R where i spent the first several years of my life and learnt French fluently, as well as English and spoken Farsi; but alas, we moved to Sydney Australia and the French was lost.Since 1990 my family has lived in Australia, as have i, except for the year Dec. 2004 - Dec. 2005 in which i volunteered for a year in Haifa, Israel at the Baha'i World Centre, Serving as a security officer.I am a declared Baha'i and most of my efforts in life are intertwined with a continuous and (in a way) accelerating process of reading the Holy Texts of the Baha'i Religion and the Religions of the past so as to gain deeper spiritual insights and be able to draw upon the Creative Power of the Word of God as a powerful source of inspiration to be the best person i can be and to try and be a powerful tool in increasing the Peace in the World.I am a lover of languages, basketball, people that simply make others happy, and i especially love the Baha'i Spirit expressed through traditional African approaches (such as those mind-blowingly amazing African Sing-a-longs...wow!); Music is also very much a central part of my life and undoubtedly has the potential to elevate me to amazing heights of spiritual nirvana (i can also exaggerate)Physics makes me happy! Classic Rock music requires talent and is admirable: Whitesnake's Ain't no love in the heart of the city speaks to my heart and soul...Electron orbitals give me a headache.Peace *********************************************************.. ..

Movies:

All movies had the potential to be nice, fun, amazing, awesome, inspiring, etc.; up until i saw: the Thin Red Line; it seems as though this movie completed the purpose of film-making to such an extent that any other movie seems quite tasteless unfortunately...what to do?Mind you...Anchorman and The Life Aquatic: with Steve Zissou both topped the comedy genres for me (Napoleon Dynamite being quite excellent also!)oh and on the opposite end of the scale, i'm endlessly chanting medleys from Moulin Rouge...excellent creation

Television:

O people of God! Do not busy yourselves in your own concerns; let your thoughts be fixed upon that which will rehabilitate the fortunes of mankind and sanctify the hearts and souls of men. This can best be achieved through pure and holy deeds, through a virtuous life and a goodly behavior. Valiant acts will ensure the triumph of this Cause, and a saintly character will reinforce its power. Cleave unto righteousness, O people of Baha! This, verily, is the commandment which this wronged One hath given unto you, and the first choice of His unrestrained Will for every one of you.(Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 93)

Books:

All of the Holy Texts and Scriptures are fascinating and affect the open-minded reader such as to transform them spiritually in physically unnoticable but amazing ways...For Fun:the "Tommorrow When the War Began" series, by John Marsden, went off in primary school, i'm sure it's still good for anyone though! The greatest fantasy books i've ever read: the "Magician" Series by Raymond E. FiestEVERYONE who has a chance, check out: "Amusing ourselves to death" by US Scholar Neil Postman... absolutely awesome book! Just keep in mind it's based upon the ideology that majority of television viewers are 'passive audiences'...still...a MUST READ i say!

Heroes:

Quddus - The Most Holy, The Final Point..

Focusing on the more important things in life!

Even as the clouds let us shed down tears, and as the lightning flashes let us laugh at our coursings through east and west.   By day, by night, let us think but of spreading the sweet savours ...

The MEANING OF, or REASON FOR, Religion!

So in my studies of Gleanings, it always interested me that Baha'u'llah has specifically on many accounts written of the very purpose of Religion or Revelation from God, and that the concepts&nbs...
