About Me

Announcing the Triumphant Return of the Great:FAR SOUTH MOVEMENT.The debut performance (the first of many) will be at this year'sCity Stages Festival in Birmingham on Friday June 15th @ 8pm.Look out for shows this summer and fall and an album by year's end.-------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------- "It's like if WuTang met Steely Dan in a Baptist Church." -Sean Nowell ............................................................ ........................................................... Far South Movement was a motorcycle racing team and dealership in Montgomery, Alabama, USA in the late 70's. The owner, Frank Barnes, had a son, William, in 1978 who later went on to play the guitar and put a band together in 1991 called Far South Movement. The band played throughout the Southeastern US for seven years before screeching to a halt leaving behind only bootleg recordings and a few unreleased studio sessions. William went on to study, practice, and write music for the next seven years across the country under several of his own projects and working with other groups. Barnes is now releasing his long awaited new project under the Far South name, debuting the band at this year's City Stages Festival with an album out this Fall. More updates at any second. ............................................................ ...........................................................- ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------- William Barnes 2007 ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------FAR SOUTH MOVEMENT SHIRTS COMING SOON!!!!! First shows to start slowly this spring-summer

probably start with a small 5-7 piece band at some small clubs this spring, and hope to have the album and full band together by the end of the summer.  cross your fingers. peace.
