About Me

I grew up on the prairies. Never saw a mountain or an ocean until I was 23. When I was 26 I moved to Japan, surrounded by mountains and ocean. All told, I spent five years in Japan. It was life-changing. I met the love of my life there. Nice! I work in the burgeoning Manitoba film industry. It's a tough grind and not always very rewarding. As of late I've been seeking out new trails to blaze. I'll let you know how that's coming along as it comes along. One of my great passions is music. I produce and host a bi-weekly radio program called 'Keep Rising'. I occasionally spin records in public. Check the blog to get a sense of the stuff I like. I'm blessed to have many talented friends who make and perform music and I'm only too happy to champion their sounds. I enjoy restaurants and cafes. I've become a connaisseur of coffee in recent years. I obsess over glossy magazines. I collect vinyl like a crazy person (and it makes my wife crazy). I hate winter but I live in a city where it's winter 5 months of the year. I'm slow to catch on with technology but my friends and brother help me out in that department. I sometimes wish I grew up in the 50s and 60s. Maybe would've been better off. I'm nostalgic to a fault. My friends are important to me. I've cultivated many friendships and I still roll with people that I played sandlot with 25 years ago. I like myspace but it can get out of hand too. Everything in moderation I guess.
