Dennis DanehyDennis Danehy is the Son of Don “Campbellock” Campbell-Creator of the World Renown 70’s dance “The Campbellock” aka “Locking” and Founder and Co-Manager of the World Renown 70’s dance troupe “The Campbellock Dancers” aka “The Lockers”.Dennis began His professional dancing career with “The Lockers” at age 4. Dennis would continue to perform with the group throughout His early childhood.Having performing in His blood, Dennis took to acting in His early adulthood. It was at Santa Monica, that Dennis rigorously honed His craft, studying Classical Theatre (Shakespeare, Greek Tragedy, Brecht, and Comedi Del Arte) Method Acting, and Improvisational Theatre. This hard work paid off in the role of Zeus in Ian Foxx’s Revival of the Renown 60’s Play- “5 on The Black Hand” written by August Wilson.At the age of 17, Dennis began His Retail career that spanned 15yrs.Dennis gained Extensive Knowledge of the Retail Industry, with such companies as: Ralph’s/Kroger Foods, Restoration Hardware, Noteworthy, Express World Brand, CP Shades, Adidas, and lastly with Nike.It was at Nike, that Dennis cultivated His Talent for knowing how to turn People, Product, and Great Visuals into Million Dollar Profits and Double-Digit Gains, for each Dept, in every store He worked in.It was in 1996, that Dennis took over as Manager of His Father-Don “Campbellock” Campbell’s career. Since that time, Mr. Campbell has re-emerged as a Significant Force and Contributor to the World of HipHop Culture as It pertains to Dance.Due to Dennis’s consistent career management, Mr. Campbell has appeared as a Guest Speaker and Panelist, Performer, Master Class Teacher, and Judge at some of the Premier Venues that cater to the HipHop Dance Community. Dennis arranged for Mr. Campbell to travel the World, teaching master classes on and promoting his dance “The Campbellock” aka “Locking”, as well as, arranging for Mr. Campbell to appear in numerous publications around the World. In 2006, Dennis added "Boogaloo Sam" Solomon-The Creator of Popping and Boogalooing-to his growing roster of dancers he manages.In Nov. 2004, Dennis took to the stage to dance with His Father, for the first time in 25 yrs. Dennis starred as a Featured Performer in “Rennie Harris Presents the Legends of HipHop” dance revue, which toured LA (The RedCat Theatre) and NY/Broadway (The New Victory Theatre).Dennis Has taught HipHop Dance (Trendy, Popping, Locking, B-Boying, Old School, House, Vogueing, and Freestyle) at Motion Pacific Dance Studio in Santa Cruz, Ca. It was during the summer of 2005, that Dennis performed with the Motion Pacific Dancers. The various shows that were done by the Motion Pacific Dance Studio were meant to help spread the positive effects of dance to the community of Santa Cruz. The shows were an enormous success and brought tremendous traffic back to Motion Pacific Dance Studio.In Aug. 2005, Dennis had the opportunity to attend the USA/World Hiphop Championships as a Judge, Panelist, Announcer, Choreographer, Performer, and full supporter of the event. It was at the event, that Dennis had the pleasure of working extensively with Howard Schwartz and HipHop International.In Nov. 2005, thru connections made at the USA/World HipHop Championships, Dennis was able to travel to Ireland to teach 6 Old School HipHop dances workshops and give a lecture on HipHop culture. In March 2007, Dennis was back in Ireland to be the head judge of The Irish HipHop Dance Championships, as well as, being the head judge for The UK HipHop Dance Championships, 2 weeks earlier.In Late April/May 2006, Dennis became one of the first members from the Culture of HipHop to teach HipHop Dance, History, and Culture in Communist China. Dennis, along HipHop Connixion Choreographer-Karlo Familiara, taught workshops in both the cities of Nanjing and Shenzhen in Mainland China.In July 2006, Dennis again rejoined HipHop International and Howard Schwartz in bringing, not only the most popular USA/World HipHop Championships ever to the masses, but welcomed the added success of The World Battle Bboy/Bgirl Crew Championship.And as a crowning moment for both Father and Son at the 2006 Championships’ Urban Moves 3, Dennis joined his Father-Don “Campbellock” Campbell in teaching a Locking workshop together for the first time ever.In 2007, Dennis joined HipHop International full-time, bringing his brainchild-The Locking and Popping Worldbattle to fruition, as part of the Entire USA/World HipHop Dance Championships and WorldBattles Week.In April 2007, Dennis toured parts of Europe(Italy, Sicily, Switzerland) teaching Old School HipHop, breaking down Fundamental Barriers existing in Europe about HipHop dance, and spreading the Entire Foundation of which Hiphop was based on.Currently, Dennis is teaching HipHop Dancer privately in Los Angeles, as well as, managing the careers of His father and others.Also, Dennis is working on getting a film about His Father’s life up and running:It is a feature film in which Dennis has written the original story and script, will star in, and produce it. This film is currently in turnaround with no release date or production date to speak of..
