About Me

I generally specialize in paradox, humor, and change :). I have also been officially absurdified as a Comic-kaze Warrior and Foo Ling Master (by Swami Beyondandanda, alter-ego of Steve Bhaerman, creator of www.wakeuplaughing.com -- check out his annual State of the Universe address: www.wakeuplaughing.com/news.html ), and I forever aspire to be a playful purveyor of light and laughter... while also aspiring to the following qualities: penetrating intelligence, but without artifice or cleverness; kindness, but without excessive sentimentality; great humor, but without frivolousness; and the ability to inspire, rather than awe. I'm a "late bloomer" -- I was even born 3 weeks late (my astrology is all jumbled up:), and I have been more or less running late ever since. But at my bloomin' best, I am a spirit having worldly experiences, and a body having heavenly experiences... a heartist, peace-monger, outlawyer, and inter-dimensional / inter-planetary diplomat who has been known, ever so often, to diagonally park in a parallel universe."We know you, they know me... extrasensory, synchronicity."In past lives I'd like to think that I have been "a worm in Newton's apple ("How do you like THAT apple?!":), a doorknob at Versailles, a pimple on the Pope's arse," etc... And as Carl Jung said, "We meet ourselves time and again in a thousand disguises on the paths of life." Hello again. How are ya? (Although one of my other favorite authors, Tom Robbins, would argue that "Human beings were invented by water as a device for transporting itself from one place to another.":)I am but one of infinite rivers which are part of the vast universal ocean."Wisdom tells me I am nothing; Love tells me I am everything. Between the two, my life flows."And in that flow I join so many others in fighting for splendid virtue, for high endeavor, and for sublime wisdom.Blah-diddy-blah-blah... :)

My Interests

www.ThePeaceAlliance.org www.BuildTheDream.org www.WakeUpLaughing.com www.ONE.org www.ClimateCrisis.net www.MakeTradeFair.com www.CoOpAmerica.com ~+~I love: Adventuring; Nature and the Great Outdoors; Sports -- surfing, scuba diving, skydiving, hang gliding, mountain biking, snowboarding, backpacking, basketball, volleyball, etc.; World cultures -- especially indigenous ones; Holistic studies; Arts and sciences; Reading and writing;... Metaphors; Allegories; Wordplay; Contradictions; Paradigm shifts; Leisure time; Punchlines; Laughing; Peanut-butter and jam sandwiches; Fortune cookies; Modern mythology (it is, of course, very much alive -- pervasive in so many forms -- and often terribly fascinating); Contemplating the universe; The "Golden Section," and its infinite, wondrous applications; The architectural triadic principle of "Utilitas, Firmitas, Venustas" ("Function, Strength, Beauty"), and its very worthy transference as a principle for so many things in life; Aligning mind, body, and spirit (dogmas not included:); Gnosis; Relationship dynamics; The 8th Insight of "Celestine Prophecy"; The engineering, and smile-evoking simplicity of MINI Coopers; Female foreign accents, especially British; Aurora; Moon phases; Tides; Ocean swells; Pressure systems; Fetch and wind direction; Shark repellent research (only for the times that we don't want to see 'em or get chomped by 'em); The fallibility of human beings, especially politicians and talking heads; Dogs' thoughts (most animals' thoughts, really, but especially dogs'); Learning how to sleep like a dolphin (although I'd gladly settle for simply efficient, fully-restorative sleep); Lucid dreaming; ESP and telepathy; Light travel; etc.

I'd like to meet:

Kindred spirits... If you find some "kin" in my "spirit," drop me a line, leave a comment, whatever. You don't have to read my whole long-winded profile... Heck, I didn't -- I just let my "loquacious" fingers "do the walking" and the "talking" on my computer keyboard. I would hope that I can trust them by now:)

Music:

I love all kinds of music, with the exception of trite, commercialized pop (which I like to call "Flacid Rock":). But I especially enjoy funky, original stuff with positive and/or fun messages... such as: Sting, The Police, Dave Matthews, DMB, Bob Marley, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, G. Love, Ben Folds, Minus the Bear, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Dan Bern, Black Eyed Peas, Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, U2 (mostly their old-school stuff, like the "Joshua Tree" album), Coldplay, Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Otis Redding, old-school Al Green, John Coltrane, Lauryn Hill, Sarah McLachlan (Hey, as Tommy Lee said, "Sarah's a rare woman who can move me to tears." And, of course, she's beautiful to the core... so don't give me any grief about her being on my list:). I also love lots of classic Blues, Soul, and Jazz, etc.a href="http://www...

Eliot, Walt Whitman, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, etc.

Heroes:

I admire those whom I think genuinely embody such qualities as compassion, honesty, humility, humor, generosity, responsibility, nonviolent perseverance (even, and especially, at risk to their own lives), etc... Those who live their dreams even while pursuing the greatest good (and often also overcoming great odds)... Those who inspire us all to live by "the Golden Rule," and remind us that "we are here to awaken from the illusion of our separateness." Specifically, I admire: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; Dalai Lama; Gandhi; Jesus; Buddha;... Sting; Batman; Yoda; etc. :) (Okay, Batman and Yoda have to work at nonviolence, but they still rock:) "He that conquers himself is a far greater hero than he that conquers a thousand times a thousand men."

My Blog

Past lives continued :)

Logically, I think the idea of reincarnation is tough to reconcile, but romantically and poetically I love the idea... plus it's always fun to think about who or what we may have been in former lives....

Peace

"Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart." - (Unknown)
