The Coup, a group out of Oakland, are banded together by Pam the Funkstress and Boots Riley, two non-conventional hip-hoppers who have gained not only a huge fan base, but tremendous post 9/11 notoriety for their political views. Straight from their latest album “Party Music?? is the profound music video “Ride the Fence??. Told completely in cartoon animation, the song boasts a clever play on words as it takes you through a rapid succession of political issues and stances. The message is blatantly clear.
