Stop that train, I'm leaving

About Me

i'm about yea tall and yea heavy. i'm all about good music. i'm about to stop trying for anything and am about to wing everything. i'm about too pragmatic at times because variations upon a theme is a shortcut to making new material. i'm about to get a few more piano pieces memorized in whole but i'm not quite there yet.
there may be people reading this who think an internet profile delves deep into personality. i'm sorry. yet, i'll try to give a concise and diverse perspective of myself. i'm prolly 99% docile. i'm a bitter perfectionist. i loathe this corrupt world in which i live, the way it's run, yet i perpetually try to find good in it. i try to be orderly and systematic, though this is the cause of the rut which is my life. if you be nice to me, i'll be nice to you. if you don't, i'll probably disregard you more than anything. it's my inherently peaceful nature and remembrances of karma which keep me from returning such misdeeds. i'm good at giving advice, terrible at accepting it. i take things as they are. despite my overpowering negative attitude towards life, i try as much as possible to be good-natured and attempt to spread it to those around me. like i said, i try to find good in the world, and though it is quite lacking, sometimes you gotta help put it in and bring it out of people. conversations about objects of random topics interest me.
i approve comments when they have some sort of funny/unique/important significance or originality, inside jokes, etc. otherwise, i'll reply with a message. so if you're just sending a "hi" comment, you might as well send me a message. ya dig? word.

My Interests

it says "general interests", but i'd rather be specific.
first and foremost, i'm an avid music theory nerd. i love classical music, i love playing classical piano, and i love music theory analysis. i'm also a grammar and vocabulary nerd. my friends can attest to this well enough. i easily get sidetracked when looking in the dictionary. i'm also a big fan of the Jumble in the newspaper. i'm prone to philosophical speculation, observation, and being overly analytical on life questions ranging from "what is our purpose?" to "what should i eat?" it's important to know both extremities in order to keep life in balance. i have a wide range of scientific and metaphysical interests which many people would find either completely boring or totally irrelevant to anything, though i view them as certain foundations for reality as we experience it, and thus they are completely relevant and important. what is the substance of an idea? to what extent does free will exist? if light traveling through a vacuum has a wave, through what does it wave?
i love learning new things. i look into that which is foreign to me. everybody and everything has something to offer, even enemies, although they offer things in a different sort of fashion. knowledge can be drawn from everything; if it wasn't an aspect of knowledge, then it wouldn't exist; because it exists, it necessarily is an aspect of knowledge. circular reasoning can be without loose ends. i'm a fan of objectivity, universal truth, and the good in the world. i think my platonic tendencies tend to show at times because i enjoy questioning things to get at the heart of the matter, though, oftentimes to the chagrin of others, this comes off as being anal and cynical. i'll admit to being a cynic. it's all good. i like, reading and hearing different viewpoints. i'm interested in discussions, not arguments.

I'd like to meet:

______________ (fill in the blank with your personality). no, seriously.

Books:

music books; philosophy books; religious books, texts, and scriptures. not necessarily in that order. it depends on the day.

though i must also admit i have a certain admiration of Schroeder from "Charlie Brown".

people are strange

people are strange. not just because they choose to walk on two legs, and not that we're the only creatures that can do so; gorillas, though naturally stomach-heavy with a pelvis specifically des...

not to ______, but ______

if you really want to get away with a spoken-action, then the easiest way to do so is to blatantly say you're not going to do it before you actually do. "not to mention...." and then mention it. "not ...

random thoughts in the wee hours of the day

i saw a verizon commercial that said "it's an mp3 player that's also a phone". they're actually prioritizing the alternative feature above the original purpose when they promote it now. i have verizon...

it’s almost fictional - the "reality" of internet interaction

does it ever really amount to anything? sure, we know that there's an actual, living person on the other end, but pragmatically is that how we process it? if it never gets affirmed in "real" life on a...
