Jimmy Beattie

My name is Jimmy Beattie. I am 25 and have been playing music since I was 15. I began with drums. My dad was a great guitar player/songwriter. As far back as I can remember his band "Footeloose" pracitced at our house in Sparta. When they took break I would sit down and try to play the drums. I was 15 when my dad bought me my first drum set. I played drums heavily for about four years. Up until that point I had learned some chords and a few basic songs on the guitar but nothing to involved. Then I was introduced to the wonderful world of guitar rock. John Petricci, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Steve Morris etc. These guys changed my life. After hearing them I realized what was possible on a guitar. So I started spending all of my free time on the edge of my bed playing my guit-fiddle. That was my life from then on. As time progressed I started to feel more confident with my playing. When I was 22 I started writing songs an my own. On April 15, 2006 my father passed away. One of the last things that I said to him was that I was going to make a noise so big that he hears it in heaven, and that's what I intend to do. He always wanted to record an album that he played all of the instruments on. That is what I am doing. All of the music that you hear will be recorded mostly by me. Drums, guitar, bass, lead guitar, and vocals. I hope that anyone who listens enjoys. I also sing and play guitar for the band Omnipresent.
