The beginnings of Jenovah started way back in 2002, when Patrick Williams and Matt Zenoble met each other in high school and started jamming together. After graduating in 2004 they joined with Adam Besserer and Joey Maramoto (who were previously in a punk band together at the same high school) and created a melodic death/black metal band called Morionor. Morionor lasted until 2007, spanning two albums and numerous lineup changes.
After years of shows and recording as Morionor, in November 2007 the band decided to bid farewell to members Joey Maramoto and Joe Pike. Matt Parsons joined on guitar/vox, and Morionor changed its name to Jenovah. Unfortunately this didn't last long and Matt Parsons left the band to peruse other interests and work on his solo project. A few months later in February '08 the remaining band members decided to part ways as well. Shortly after this Patrick Williams and Matt Zenoble decided they would continue to play together under the name Jenovah, possibly collaborating with Matt Parsons again.
