Welcome to my official Myspace page. Here you will find the latest updates on my music, a player with a choice sampling of my songwriting, and the ability to buy some sweet merchandise.
I started this solo project in the summer of 2007. I had a few song ideas for my first band Sacrosanct that never got used, so I developed them into complete songs. This got released as my first demo, "A Moment of Clarity". After releasing "A Moment of Clarity", my fame spread and I was asked to found Jenovah with many former members of Morionor. Unfortunately due to the rising price of gas, I couldn't afford to continue to be a member of the band. The exposure to a musical environment inspired me to continue writing, and shortly thereafter I started working on a new set of songs. These eventually became "Alas, Tyranny", which I recorded December of 2007. The music drew enough attention in the local scene that I was able to find supporting musicians to play live with. However due to technical difficulties I have been unable to bring these songs to the stage yet. Lately, I have been working on my first full length CD. The title is "Domination Liberation Purification".

Kind Words
"What does Matt Parson do by himself that no one in American black metal can pull off? Play brutal, play fast and play extreme fucking memorable black metal! Take note motherfuckers!" - Wil, The Emaciated
"Nonetheless, the Matt Parsons band has a great potential to be something big, and it is proven by the work found in this demo. This isn't your ordinary one-man band or demo here. The demo shows off the handiwork of an experienced musician that is Matt Parsons. I highly recommend this band to anyone looking for something different." ~ Boxx, Metal-Archives.com
"Matt Parsons knows how to write songs; very good ones, in fact. And, actually, songs that sound like they could have come from a major metal label like Century Media without any trouble at all. I can't even say it's in a raw and unformed state; it all sounds DONE, like the material is already perfected and needs no changes at all." ~ Noktorn, on A Moment of Clarity Metal-Archives.com
"The end result is absolutely stunning and the best example of natural songwriting this side of Zargof; the whole demo is massive and I'm amazed this artist isn't signed already." ~ Noktorn, on Alas, Tyranny
"Pay attention to this band if you are a fan of modern extreme metal, but be wary if you are an old-schooler. The Matt Parsons Band writes nothing but fresh material that represents what metal sounds like today. Check this band out if you like later Opeth, Dark Tranquillity, and/or Dimmu Borgir. But indeed there’s something here for everyone who has confidence in the current state of metal. And if not, be glad there are bands like these who can deliver inspiration to fans worldwide." ~ Zephyrus
