About Me

I am ancient of days. I am the Powerfreak Bassist. I am sent to comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable. I am the bassmaster. I am also husband and father.Founding member of Monsters of Rock , a local SD hard rock cover band, Not theirs anymore, but I do like to watch them go. I am occasionally found singing and/or playing bass guitar for one or another rock or metal band in San Diego.

My influences are mostly Geezer Butler and Geddy Lee with a bit of Steve Harris. If I have to play root notes, I tend to go for lots of sustain and color. I don't use a pick and I tend to go for power and precision, rather than speed. I also break bass strings on occasion.

Been playing bass since high school (long ago and far away). I graduated high school in 1977 in the Detroit area. Have some touring and recording experience in the midwest (Flying Tiger) and in the Tucson Az area (Hunter). Locally, I founded Monsters of Rock which is still playing in San Diego (without me), and have played bass for Sator Square . You can see photos and hear recordings of me from those sites.

I also sing some. Not ready to dump my bass yet, but I have good pitch and can hit the high notes for harmonies.

A solid fan of Rush, Bruce Dickinson (solo stuff), Dream Theater, Dokken, Racer X, Queensryche, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple. Zeppelin, Queen, and Floyd are OK but I am not a fan of the Cult, Nirvana, Crue, or G&R. I kinda like new bands such as Coheed & Cambria and Holler, and don't mind dark metal, but not much into the cookie monster stuff. You can catch me listening to Classical, Jazz, and New Age music too. Even a bit of Bluegrass.

Creation as a far-fetched tale of intrigue

What good would it have done mankind if Adam and Eve would have stayed in the garden of Eden? No sin or transgression would have been committed, but there would never have been mankind either. "Here A...
