About Me

Formed in the year 2000 by brothers Paul and Kelvin Wolski (guitars and vocals, respectively), Jim Towler (guitars), John Hardacre (bass) and Ben Ramskill (drums), the Blackpool-based band went through a number of mutations, before settling into its current form, with the original five members joined by multi-instrumentalist Stephen Ladley and harmonica player Paul Bamford in 2005. Vocalist Lindsay Bennet cemented the current line up in 2006. Lotus Circle’s live show has earned them fans up and down the country, particularly in Lancashire, and also in Leeds where return visits have seen the growth of an ever-increasing fan base in that city. Their live schedule in 2006 included performances at the Edinburgh Festival and the Blackpool Gazette’s ‘Rockquest’ Battle of the Bands competition, at which they took first prize. Their adrenalised, uniquely athletic performances never fail to win over any audience; an antidote to the lack of spirit on display from most so-called rock ‘n’ roll acts currently active on the live music scene. In 2007 Lotus Circle staged the ambitious BlackVegas festival at the Blackpool Grand Theatre: two days of rock ‘n’ roll cabaret, incorporating comedians, magicians, dancers and the cream of Blackpool’s underground live music scene, performing to a packed house of over a thousand people. at the event over the August bank holiday weekend. Last year also saw Lotus headline Blackpool’s Tommyfest festival, at which they staged a live performance of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, an epic collaborative venture that included members of over ten bands who had performed Welcome to the Lotus Circle; cross your fingers, say a prayer and jump in – if you think you can keep up…And if you would like to learn the Lotus Kids' stories and their dark and mysteries pasts. Simply click on the blogs above.Reviews; "An eclectic mix of Alternative Rock with melodic injections. Lotus Circle have become the eccentric masters of live performance. With 8 members & 10 instruments, they never disappoint. Their sound and atmosphere creates an entertaining masterpiece wherever they perform."Lotus Circle create an electrifying sexual energy which spills out to the audience. It's like watching a private party onstage, except everyone's invited!""Lotus Circle’s diverse influences blend seamlessly into a musical style that is entirely their own. Fusing elements of psychedelia, punk, rockabilly, classic rock and blues with a twist of mischievous experimentalism, Lotus Circle brew up an infectiously exciting musical storm."
