About Me

Cochon Bleu plays a unique interpretation of cajun. The band combines the slightly nervous good humour and melancholy of cajun music with European folk influences. All five band members (of which three are brothers) also sing and there are leading roles for accordion, guitars and mandolin.
The cd Relooké (2000) - featuring compositions by Cochon Bleu themselves - was well received by critical followers of the music industry. Its successor Eau (2004) features more Francophonic Americana and got the band raving reviews:
MusicMagazine OOR:
Hollands best kept cajun secret
Heaven:
Maybe Hollands most amusing band
Folkforum:
A beautiful record
Folkowa (Poland):
One of the most pleasant cajun albums I ever heard.
South of Mainstream (USA):
I never gave the coveted 5 star-award until I heard this band
Anyone who ever witnessed a barnstorming gig by Cochon Bleu will tell you good humour and sheer joy in playing are important to the band. This has already caused a sensation at halls and festivals throughout The Netherlands (Paradiso, Eurosonic and Oerol among others), Germany and Belgium.
