Universal conquest, pie, laughing, science fiction, poetry, sleep, karaoke, computers, sex, politics, movies, theatre, ancient Egypt and most of pre-colonial Africa, and having as much fun as I can without getting convicted.
People who would like to give me money would be nice. People who can be of some use to me, I suppose. I've been told that I'm a relentlessly useful person to know, so I expect reciprocal profit in return. Nobody is in my life "just to talk to" (unless I pay them and they're professionally certified) and I'm not looking for new friends.
I hate to quote Mister Carter, but "I'm not a businessman, I'm a business, man!" If it's not about that -- and that's not always about cash, there are considerably more esoteric forms of profit -- then I'm not terribly interested.
NOTE ABOUT FRIEND REQUESTS: With the exception of Carl (who is there because he's too funny not to have as friends, given my GTA addiction), I have either had conversations with literally everybody on my friend's list, or consider them valuable in come business context (so I'd like them to receive my bulletins, and so on). Some have given me money, many have shared meals with me, some have transacted commerce with me, and I am not completely sure, but I may have even slept with one or two.
I say all that to say that "can I be your friend?" is unlikely to interest me. If we start corresponding, via messages or blog comments or what have you, maybe. if I can find a use for you, sure. But if I don't know you, I'm unlikely to approve any friend requests, because (in the words of Mos Def), "I had ... a bad ... experience!" The management apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, your mileage may vary, standard disclaimers apply.
Also, I don't wanna click and listen to your band, I don't wanna be invited to be a reader of your blog, and I don't really have any interest in you if you're not walking up to me with something I will find profitable. I'm fine to do things you'd like after I've found some reason to keep you around, but I'm not charitable and I don't care, so you've got that going for you ...
