Are you using a scrunchee?

About Me

PROFESSIONALLY: professional comedian/TV Host/Voiceovers/Writer.Former professional radio personality (last station I worked at; in the words of the legendary Len "Boom Boom" Goldberg: "100.7 W-M-M-S! CLEVELAND!)I've hosted, emceed, and/or DJ-ed over 1,000 weddings. And have an (as of yet unpublished book) poking fun of the weird, tacky, tasteless, cheesy things I've seen. (Wanna help me get it published?) I also have a script to shoot as a short film based on it (wanna fund it? help shoot it? be a producer?)
PERSONALLY: stupidity and laziness make me insane. People who go through life like, "WHEEEEEEEE! I'M STUPID AND EVERYONE ELSE WILL ADJUST ACCORDINGLY!" I'm an only child. I have a zero tolerance policy on drama in my life and can't stand materialistic people. Hey, I want money and lots of it too and whatever amount of happiness it brings but not at the cost of my soul. My biggest fears are being boring or being bored. I get a little claustrophobic sometimes. I'm very organized, driven, and goal oriented.

My Interests

All things standup comedy, making people laugh, people who are passionate about something...all things "The Simpsons", soccer, The Pittsburgh Steelers, The Cleveland Indians (yeah, I know), writer Dave Barry, Brian Regan, Robert Schimmel, self-improvement/self-help, many things spiritual, things that make life more efficient.

I'd like to meet:

In no particular order: Steve Martin, (thy god), Garry Shandling, Bill Cosby, George Carlin, Pele, Dave Barry, my gramma and grampap again in the next life, the person who invented chocolate chip cookies, Kristin Davis (to see if I could breathe around her), Matt Groening, (Best Show EVER!) "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Bob Newhart, Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz to see the two hottest women on earth side by side, Alec Baldwin (favorite actor), Paul Thomas Anderson, any and all of the cast of "Boogie Nights", Antonio Banderas, Beth Littleford (the funniest & sexiest woman in comedy)

Music:

Spike Jones (not the director, the singer/composer/songwriter/comedian extraordinaire pre WWII), OK, NOW in alphabetical order: Alice in Chains, Babes in Toyland, Bjork, Blue Murder, Bryan Ferry, Chris Isaak, The Cult, Dean Martin, The Doors, ELO, Flamingos, Gordon Lightfoot, G'n'f'n'R, Journey, Kid Rock, L.A. Guns, Led Zep, Love/Hate, Megadeth, Metallica, Missy Elliot, Motley Crue, Nazareth, NWA, Neil Diamond, Pantera, Prince, Public Enemy, Quiet Riot, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Reverend Horton Heat, Scorpions, Skid Row, Smashing Pumpkins, The Who, one-hit wonders of the 70s and 80s, some hip-hop (The kids love that stuff),"Old school" country (read: when country was good, i.e., George Jones, Hank, Patsy, Glen Campbell, K.T. Oslin), however, please punch me in neck instead of making me listen to Trance/Techno. However, most of my favorite songs aren't by any of the artists listed above.

Movies:

BOOGIE NIGHTS (Paul Thomas Anderson rules all)And the rest, in no particular order:Glengarry Glen Ross, Falling Down, The Jerk, The Breakfast Club, Talk Radio, Goodfellas, L.A. Story, Full Metal Jacket, The Ring, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, About Last Night, Bad Lieutenant, Pulp Fiction, Planes, Trains, & Automobiles, Garden State, Bottle Rocket, Desperado, Whale Rider, Rocky, Closer, Swimming with Sharks, Biloxi Blues, Brighton Beach Memoirs...READ MY BLOG FOR MONTHLY MOVIE REVIEWS! IT'S 100% FREE!

Television:

THE SIMPSONS, The Larry Sanders Show, Seinfeld, All in the Family, The Six Million Dollar Man, Entourage, Sopranos, Rescue Me, Law & Order, CSI, soft core cheesy porn on Cinemax when I'm on the road...I'LL GO OUT OF MY WAY NOT TO WATCH: anything on The WB, anything that has a preview where they say, "Tonight, on a very special __________". Just about all "reality" shows, which are the farthest thing from reality.

Books:

"Born Standing Up" (Steve Martin's Autobiography, favorite book), anything written by Dave Barry (a wordsmith with awesome pacing), "Sein Language", Ray Romano's, "Everything and a Kite", "I Killed", "The 20th Century", Bob Newhart's, "I Shouldn't Even Be Doing This!", Willie Nelson's, "The Tao of Willie", Ray Bradbury's, "The Illustrated Man", Steve Martin's, "The Pleasure of My Company" and "Shopgirl", "The Day America Told the Truth", Slash's book, "Slash", (history of "Guns 'n' Roses"), the back of the cereal boxes while I'm eating from them, and Skymall when I forget my reading material on airplanes.

Heroes:

In no particular order: anyone in the field of public service, health care, (they possess patience I just don't have), anyone in the military, personally, my mom, my dad, John Gorman (mentor, friend, and legend in broadcasting), my grandfather, Bill Cosby, (I'm not saying that Bill Cosby is my grandfather...you know what I mean), Steve Martin, and George Carlin (the founding fathers of modern day standup comedy)
