Randy Southard

Randy never played music until he was 18 years old . A good friend of his got him writing songs.
He started going to Nashville for several years and worked with Music Publishing Companies on Music Row to learn the craft of songwriting ( a very eye opening experience to say the least. ) But well worth the study. They will show you things about songs you never even thought about.
In 1988 Randy became a Christian while attending a small country Church. He was baptized at the river.
He has been involved in many ministries in his Church, including Street Ministry, Senior Homes, teaching Sunday School, and OVERCOMERS ( an alcohol and drug addiction program ).
He set his music down for many years. His wife offered to buy him a Taylor guitar if he would start back. He came home with 2 Taylor guitars. ( His wife no longer lets him go to the store or carry a credit card anymore) He started playing again in 2001 and writes Christian songs.

"God Knows Everything ( My Rose)" was wrote about my mother.
She went to be with the Lord in 2005. She was very special to me.
"Near the Cross" a live recording with Randy and his guitar.
"I Need Jesus Today" I enjoy singing it and I do need Jesus everyday.
"Draw Nigh, Close to God" There is no safer place to be than next to HIM.
"Mother and Father's Prayer" was wrote for his daughter when she left home.
"Oh Child. Come In From the Rain" is a true story of addiction.
One person made it the other one did not.
These were two people that Randy became aquainted with and became friends with in the Overcomers program.
