I am blessed to have some treasured friends whom I consider family. Qualities I appreciate in them, qualities I look for in those I meet, are their senses of humor, intellect, compassionate hearts, commitment to cultivating personal health, creativity, earnestness in seeking continued growth and self awareness, and willingness to courageously fumble through this simultaneously wonderous and overwhelming life together.
On a romantic note, I am open to meeting a partner with whom I can share my experience of life, and vice versa. I believe that love is the will to extend one's self for the purpose of nurturing one's own or another's growth, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, or otherwise. Although love is too immense and mysterious to be captured by words, I've yet to find a definition of love and partnership that resonates with me as deeply. Thanks M. Scott Peck.
That said, I'd also like to meet this guy, even though he's probably an asshole:
There is only one success: to be able to spend your life in your own way, and not to give others absurd maddening claims upon it.
~ Christopher Darlington Morley
The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself, with desire for what its monstrous laws have made monstrous and unlawful.
~ Oscar Wilde
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
