About Me
To read our fantastically-written article in PRESENT Magazine, check out Kickin' It Old School .From PRESENT: "In the era of indie rock and hipster youth culture, jaded distance is king. One group of time-traveling rockers have landed in Kansas City to try and change all that, bringing humor and sincerity back to Earth in the age of irony."While rocketing through outer space on his Converse-shaped rocket ship, Rocket Rob had an idea. While his original intent was to journey throughout the darkness of space on a quest for infinite knowledge, his large stack of music discs altered his course. Consisting of AC/DC, KISS, Van Halen, and many more, the Earth based electric guitar driven Rock and Roll compelled Rocket Rob in a way nothing in the entire galaxy had done before. He knew he had a new mission: TO ROCK THE UNIVERSE!! But he knew that he couldn't do it alone. He needed a Rockin' band. But you can't have a Rockin' band without a mean lead-guitar slinging superhero, so he began training immediately. He studied the deadly martial art of electric guitar known as Solo Fu, which is a deadly hybrid of space karate and electric guitar playing. He soon became the undisputed master of Solo Fu. After accidently blowing up all of his robotic assistants while playing a ferocious four-hour solo, he knew he was ready. He began to travel throughout time and space, in search of his new co-pilots. Landing in the wondrous Earth city known as Kansas City, Missouri, during the year 1988, he picked up an exuberant rocker with a taste for splitkicks and headbands named Johnny Jumpkick . Rocket Rob asked the lad, "Can you play Bass?" But young Johnny couldn't hear him, because he was too busy playing The Legend of Zelda on his Nintendo Entertainment System, whilst the sounds of David Bowie blasted forth from his massive boombox. Rocket Rob said, "You'll learn, boy. You'll learn." He handed Johnny a Bass guitar. Johnny stared at the instrument in awe, and knew that if he was going to Rock, there would be no one better to Rock with than Rocket Rob. Rocket Rob then escorted Johnny into the rocket, and asked the earthling where would be a good place to find a technically proficient drummer. Johnny said, "They make awesome stereos and stuff in Taiwan, so that would be the best place in all of Earth to find a drummer!!". Rocket Rob replied, "OF COURSE!!". Then the duo traveled farther back in time to the year 1978, and flew to the land of beauty and rice known as Taiwan, where they landed in the midst of a forceful and violent typhoon. In the eye of this typhoon, they spotted a strange entity playing drums with perfect machine-like precision. Draped and flowing in an array of silver and purple, it was none other than the wind goddess known as Shelly Storm . She was thought to be only legend--a spirit woman who accompanied the awesome force of typhoons with her own thunderous soundtrack. She saw the two voyagers floating above her in their rocket. No words were exchanged. They simply looked upon each other, nodded, and she packed up her drums, wardrobe, Journey's "Infinity" album, and entered the rocket ship. The three gazed at each other for what seemed like eons, excitement etched upon their faces. They all embraced each other at the same time, happy that they were going to do what they were going to do. Guitar. Bass. Drums. The Triforce of Rock was now complete. Now, comprised of Rocket Rob (Lead Face Melting Guitar), Johnny Jumpkick (Boom Boom Boom Bass), and Shelly Storm (Drum a Tum Tums), these three individuals now stand united in order to rock people's brains through their asses! They are now members of the good ship MACH ROCKET 3000!
