"Head Voices" coming soon!

About Me

Here's what the people over at Present Magazine had to say
"The Threes, an unsigned band comprised of musicians from Brazil, Chile, Kansas, and Missouri, are on a quest to rock you with their stylized brand of pop music. That said, they're not going to beat you over the head with strangeness for kicks. The music is simply well-crafted pop rock, with a little punk, funk, and soul thrown in for flavor. The diversity is dialed down and almost hidden in a way that several listens in, you realize that these are more than just catchy pop songs. Underneath the hooks and choruses, each member draws from their background and extends their influence on the overall sound. Formed in mid-November 2006, they are quickly developing a strong set of songs worth a listen.
The repeating keyboard notes in "Monster" grab attention right away, followed by an upbeat array of guitar, drums, and lyrics within the first seconds. The "woo hoo hoo" vocals in the background seal it up as a favorite song of the week for sheer fun. For a split second, the band reminds me of the lead vocals from Roomful of Walters circa mid-80s. Songs like "Diamond Mind" exude a youthful vigor filled with a healthy dash of pop. Catch them live at any number of shows over the next few months. I can't wait for spring days when it is warm enough to crank up the car stereo and drive around while listening to The Threes."

"A Ballad for Kathyrn -- Acoustic" -- Westport Coffeehouse -- 12/23/06

Sounds Like: rock n roll with a shake of pop, a twist of funk, and a whole bag of "shake yo booty".

once described as "a local group who closed out the evening with the raw energy of a elementary school playground bomb threat." we think that was intended as a compliment.

"14 Hours a Man" -- live @ Davey's -- 1/11/07 -- (with a few seconds of the end of "The New Scare")
