I have been playing guitar for 11 years, since I was 15. More accurately, I have played for 3 years during that period. I started out abusing my dad's acoustic Fender Balboa, rocking to my favourite Iron Maiden tracks, until he saw fit to buy me an electric guitar "starter kit" (i.e. cheap Stratocaster knock-off and a Peavey Backstage amp). I picked up my Jackson and Marshall when I was 17. When the small cover band I was in split up, my gear basically collected dust for the next 7 years.
In February 2008 I came up with a couple of riffs that I just couldn't get out of my head. One day I consulted a co-worker on what equipment I would need to produce this song. I ended up buying the Saffire soundcard, Fostex monitors and the Ibanez bass. And those riffs I had to lay down became the song Labyrinth.
