Born in KY, March 16, 1953, Sonny grew up on the COUNTRY MUSIC HIGHWAY, The 100 mile stretch of road that has spawned country music greats GARY STEWART, LORRETTA LYNN, PATTY LOVELESS, etc. When the opportunity came to go on the road he too it. Music and the road have been his life ever since.
As a Songwriter, Sonny has had over thirty songs recorded by signed artists. He has had six songs on Billboards HOT 100 charts by artists like GARY STEWART [LETS FORGET THAT WE'RE MARRIED, MAKE IT A DOUBLE, LOOKING FOR SOME BRAND NEW STUFF], TOMMY OVERSTREET [DOWN IN THE QUARTER ], and MARLOW TACKETT [MIDNITE FIRE, WOULD YOU KNOW LOVE, MELLOW ME DOWN], and others. Stewart was quoted numerous times saying Sonny was his favorite songwriter, putting him in the league with some of the great songwriters of our time.
Always interested in the technical end of the business, Sonny spent four years in New Orleans working with artists like NATALIE COLE, PROFESSOR LONGHAIR, THE NEVIL BROS, etc. as a sound engineer. He assisted in recording the ZZ TOP album FANDANGO AT THE WAREHOUSE IN NEW ORLEANS, and assisted in recording three "NEW ORLEANS JAZZ & HERITAGE FESTIVAL ALBUMS." As an engineer he developed into an inventor be designing and building solutions to the problems faced by musicians playing live. His drum monitors have been endorsed and used by many Nashville artists, Including THE OAK RIDGE BOYS. His latest invention is a Cabinet for guitarists that answer a lot of complaints from guitar players across the country. It is a completely new approach and is miles above anything on the market today. It's called The CHAMELEON, by MOONDANCER AUDIO and will be available in late summer of 2008. Sonny's first album, " THE WAY OF THE GUN," was released in 1992 on Blue Day Records, a label owned by longtime GARY STEWART producer ROY DEA, who also produced it. It included the song "MAKE IT A DOUBLE," later covered by GARY STEWART, DWIGHT WHITLEY, and a few others. Dissatisfied, Sonny Left the label after only one year. He has since acquired The Rights to the album and is soon to release it along with Sonny's new album, "OUTLAWS LAMENT," later this summer. Both will be available at CDBABY.COM soon.
Sonny is also a gifted photographer with pictures published in a dozen or so Newspapers. He has taken many shots of friends and artists on the road; These will be available on Myspace soon.

Sonny is currently at home in KY., writing, working on his mobile studio, and getting ready to record his next CD, "GYPSIES." He answers all his emails and calls personally and gains fans every day.
