Telling stories. More in-depth: I'm interested in telling stories for an audience, be it in a theatre, a film, a song, a dance. I'm interested in moving people from one place of their mind/heart to another as they watch a story I am telling. I'm interested in performing, directing, producing and even writing at times. Those are the interests I have given priority.I'm interested in politics, more and more lately. I find more and more in this country that saddens me, which means I have more and more interest in changing the state that our country has fallen into...a state of fear and doubt. A state of disrespect and denial. A state that allows too many people with power and money to shirk responsibility to their fellow human beings. I'm interested in changing the face of our government as quickly as possible.I'm interested in my husband, and the life we're building together, and how to take the strength I find from my relationship and send it out into the world because, man, it's so much easier when you can walk the path with a friend. I'm super-duper grateful to get to have someone who assists in going deeper to a form of enlightenment, I think. Love does that. Love that is persued, cultivated...nurtured, if you will, it sheds light on parts of me I wouldn't have even known about if it weren't for Michael. Love is grand and everyone should go for it when they feel it!
It's better for me to say what I don't like, because we have a HUGE music collection that spans all genres. I'm not big on metal, and I found out about punk after most of my young rage had subsided, so I'm not that into it. But I can dig punk if it comes on - not metal though. I'm particularly big on groove songs - whether it's fast or slow, electronica or soul or country, if I can dance to it, I'll listen to it. Music moves me, in my toes and in my heart and head, that's why I love it. Listening to most: Imogen Heap & Frou Frou, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Beck, most tunes recommended by Garth Trinidad on Chocolate City (I LOVE that voice!), Bernard Bernard, Soul Rebels & Panorama - both local bands from New Orleans who ROCK!! For that matter, most music that's coming out of New Orleans I've been into lately. My 2 favoritests that I always come back to again and again: Joni Mitchell & Tom Waits. Albums I'm looking to get: the new Stevie Wonder, new Jurassic Five...crap, I can't find my list...it's on a pad around here somewhere...
