New England Dark Metal.

About Me

Dark Palace Of Waterfalls was completed with just an $1,900 budget. It was recorded at Roy’s private studio (Dark Valley Studios, Sight & Sound) between October 2007 and May 2008.
After all were satisfied with recording, the raw tracks were taken to Jay Frigoletto, who mixed and mastered the album. Although everyone wanted to be able to apply more time to mixing, there was only enough for a day and a half with the available budget.
Jay Frigoletto is a Grammy award-winning, veteran mastering engineer who had worked with Alice in Chains, Life Of Agony, Kitty, Shadows Fall, Shinedown, Crossfade, Clutch, Monster Magnet, Nonpoint, Candiria, Damage Plan, Saliva, Tesla, Clay Walker, The Yellowjackets, Spock's Beard, Gary Hoey and many more. He also mastered the X-Men 2 Soundtrack and currently holds a platinum and two gold records.
As you can see, their album was not mixed and mastered by some joker with Cakewalk and his parent’s garage. "Even though we had a shoe-string budget, we were not going to settle for anyone less than Mr. Frigoletto." -Roy Adams
Current Status:
Dark Palace is currently pending replication. The master has been finished but they now face the task of gaining the funds to make the final product. A local duplicator has agreed to manufacture a small “Supplementary” batch of the album so the band may get the ball rolling on reviews and promotion while they save towards the big job.
During this time, the band is also seeking a bigger label to pick-up the tab on duplication and release the album to a larger network of distributors and promoters. Either way, the band hopes to have the final product available to the general public by November 2008. Currently, the album IS available as digital downloads on www.soundclick.com. The only exception is “Hungry Like The Wolf”. The band is now seeking a compulsory license from Duran Duran’s publisher to avoid legal issues.
Unus Vir Symphony:
Three of the tracks on Dark Palace Of Waterfalls feature a special guest performance by a local 22 piece string section. Written and conducted by Roy Adams, his goal was to completely replace his keyboards on these songs with the real deal. As you’ll hear, the outcome was perfect. With the gaining popularity for live orchestras in today’s mainstream albums, Roy was determined that 13 Winters would have it also. It took a lot of footwork to find ones who were up to the task. Roy first went to the Portland Symphony Orchestra but was confronted with the discouragement of being told they wanted $60,000 for just a few hours of work. He worked his way through colleges and eventually lucked out and met a member of the group who agreed to do it for little more than credit. They all look forward to continuing their relationship in future releases.
