I started playing the violin in Portugal at the age of 5 and piano at age 11.Later, I studied classical violin at the RCM in Toronto with Sheldon and Xiao Grabke and won a scholarship to study with Vivian Waters for 4 years. During that time I also studied Jazz piano with Frank Foggetti and classical with Mary-Dean Morrison.During my high school years, I attended Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts where I played with the Senior and Chamber orchestras. We recorded CDs, won Kiwanis music festivals, and the Midwest Clinic Conference in Chicago. At York University for Music performance, I have participated in several charity benefit concerts, such as Hillel’s production of “Anything Goes†and Christmas benefit shows. I played piano for York’s Bossa Nova ensemble “Onda Brasil†and participated in classical chamber ensemble performances throughout the year. I am now beginning to explore different types of music with guest appearances at the Horseshoe Tavern, Kathedral and the Reverb in Toronto. Thanks for listening!
