NANCY DANINO

SINGER-SONGWRITER

About Me

Born in Israel and raised in France, the sultry voice of singer/songwriter Nancy Danino has been the highlight of everything from film soundtracks to Scandinavian pop hits. Her very first collaboration was with the YELLOW PRODUCTION team of techno/acid jazz sound designers, appearing on their 1999 Psychodelico album (Bob Sinclar). Techno artist SNOOZE heard the album, fell in love with Nancys voice, and selected her to record vocals for his first album on Belgian label Crammed. With Nancy as lead vocalist, she and Snooze recorded two albums and toured all over Europe together.Snooze introduced Nancy to one of his composer friends, Xavier Jamaux, resulting in her providing the vocals to the main theme of Tokyo Eyes, a very Nouvelle Vague French movie which went to the Cannes Film Festival. She also collaborated with two very talented songwriters and producers known as Lazybatusu, Corrado Bailone and Simone Giuliani a.k.a Formula. One of their songs was released on their Racoon album (SFP Records) while the other one is included on the compilation PAXPORT Vol 1 released on their New York City-based label, Emunity Records. In 2002, as Nancy was preparing to record her own album, a new opportunity came knocking. Jay-Jay Johansson, a Swedish singer whose first album was very successful in France and received considerable attention in the U.S., by chance heard Nancys voice on the Snooze album. He passed her name to his friends, Swedens leading pop act KENT (BMG Music Publishing Scandinavia), who were looking for a French singer to collaborate with. Nancy and Kent wrote and recorded a duet together and the song became a huge hit in Scandinavia. While she was in Stockholm for the recording, she met with the Eclectic team, Anders Hansson and Johan berg (the BMG Music Publishing Scandinavia writer/producers are responsible for hits for Christina Aguilera, Cher and many other artists). The meeting began a long partnership in songwriting, both for Nancys own album and for songs to plug to other artists. In 2004, Nancy recorded a French/English duet with Irish artist Perry Blake, which was released by the label Nave in France. The song stayed at number three on the Irish singles chart for an amazing eight weeks.Nancys album is now almost ready. Mixed by Laurent Collat/F.COM, the album features acoustic and jazzy songs written by Nancy , with Anders Hansson and Johan berg. On this page you can actually listen to "Someday", one of the last song she wrote in Sweden for her own album. But she is still keeping busy with other projects, collaborating with French DJ and Saint Germains former partner SHAZZ on his last album. They wrote and recorded four songs together including the first single My Heart and the amazing "So Into You". Nancy has also collaborated on a track with LLORCA (F.COM), and most recently with Marc Collin, producer of the fantastic project Nouvelle Vague.Since bursting on the scene with Snooze, Nancy has worked with the most eminent electronic minds in France and Europe. She is always ready for new challenges, and contemplates her future as a solo artist with great excitement. Now based in NY, she is in the process of building her band, and as a dream come true, she started to perform her own original songs in the city. She met and already wrote some beautiful new songs with the amazing NYC based songwriters Cliff Goldmacher, Jeff Cohen and Jeff Franzel, as well as Tom Kimmel in Nashville...Stay tuned and come support! .. .. ..
