About Me

Technical Info:
Renee received her professional training at the State School for Ballet and Music in Sarajevo, Bosnia which was a part of former Yugoslavia. She studied piano and was trained in the Vaganova syllabus in Sarajevo. Renee has danced professionally with a National Theatre of Sarajevo until 1995. She had decided to leave behind the life in Sarajevo after she was awarded a scholarship to finish her studies at the 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center, New York. Tiny bits and pieces in reference to Renee's work and life aired on Fox, BBC and ABC followed up by Dancer Magazine, St Petersburg Times and Tampa Tribune articles. Renee’s interests for the future include making further connections with dance communities locally and elsewhere, exploring new performance modes, passing on her teaching methods and choreographing and dancing as much as possible. Renee’s other ventures include web, dancewear, jewelry design, drawing, photography, currently working on her English writing skills and the list only goes on...
Other Bits And Pieces:
Surviving the war in my country was a real challenge. I was an aspiring dancer, only 19 years old when the war started. Dancing, dreaming, believing, focusing on positive and living my life as if every minute was the last and as if nothing bad was happening around me is what have helped me sustain four years of terror....
Music plays a very important part of my dance world as well as life. Can't imagine the world without music...can you?

Sing for me my love
Sing me something soft
Play the tales of time and chance
Move my soul to dance
Nothing more is needed
Just warm me with your voice
Sing me that you'll always love me
Oh sing me something soft...

Core 'ngrato David Habbin (Ungrateful Heart) Neapolitan

CORE 'NGRATO

Catarí, Catarí…
pecché me dici sti
parole amare,
pecché me parle
e 'o core me turmiente, Catarí?
Nun te scurdà ca
t'aggio dato 'o core,
Catarí, nun te scurdà!
Catarí, Catarí, ché vene a dicere
stu parlà ca me dà spaseme?
Tu nun'nce pienze a stu dulore mio,
tu nun'nce pienze,
tu nun te ne cure…
Core, core 'ngrato,
t'aie pigliato 'a vita mia,
tutt'è passato e
nun'nce pienze chiù.

UNGRATEFUL HEART

Catari, Catari…
why do you speak to me such
bitter words,
Why do you speak only
to torment my heart, Catari?
Do not forget that
I have given you my heart,
Catari, do not forget!
Catari, Catari, why do you speak
just to put me in agony?
You never think of my sadness,
You never think,
you never seem to care…

Ungrateful heart,
you took possession of my life,
and now it's over,
you no longer think of me.
